if you could do without one bodily function with no consequences, good or bad, which would it be?

RULES
the function has to be at least semi-necessary. things like eating, drinking water, breathing, sleeping, urinating, defecating (pooping), stuff like that. things that if you DON'T do now, you run the risk of death or serious injury.

remember, there are no consequences. it's not replaced by another bodily function. you just don't have to do it any more.

personally, i would say defecating. i hate it. it's gross.

Not needing to sleep would be great, so much more I could fit in a day.

breathing would be great as it also means you no longer need to respire or you die therefore you could run as long as you want, although you would get fat easily, you could also just relax underwater whenever you wanted

Does menstruating count? It would be awesome to not have to worry about that.

If it's not allowed, I guess defecating or urinating. I tend to really enjoy the others.

I was about to agree with you on that until I realised that it's my fall back on making sure I'm not pregnant. I'll keep it just for that reassuring reason.

OT: Pooping can go. It's smelly, gross and horrid to clean up. Could definitely do without it.

Smelling.

I say this because I don't have a sense of smell already.

Yeah, reality is a weird land to navigate, huh?

Sleeping, because I could then take a second job and make a lot more money. Or have more time to play video games or watch stuff on Netflix.

Normally, I'd say sleeping, but on the proviso that I'd never feel tired. Now that'd be awesome...

Otherwise, I'd rather not need to shit... too much of an effort sometimes, it stinks, it's unpleasant and if humans could metabolise cellulose, fucking win...(!)

Sleeping, no contest.
I could fit so much more procrastinating into my day.

Breathing, no more fear of drowning and suffocation! Going underwater and in space would be more awesome now.

I was going to say pooping too but... people make a VERY good argument for not sleeping and have half again as much time to do things!

Also, I'm generally pretty lethargic, which is really horrible. I assume these magical conditions you're suggesting would mean I wouldn't still feel grotty because I don't rest. I suppose then it'd be down to me eating well and exercising regularly, which are things that I don't do at the moment because I don't have enough time. So it'd be great for me all round!

So... yes... can I have that, please?

Would the lack of eating make me lose weight? Then yes, that one.

Otherwise, I'd love to not have to sleep.

A part of me wanted to say breathing but that would likely get me killed since trying to say, walk into the ocean would likely get me killed either by giant ass sea-creatures, poisonous sea creatures or, atmospheric pressure crushing my skull.

I ended up choosing sleep because unlike the OP, I like to poop as it's a great time to read. I love food and, drink as well. Sleep is just time on the planet I'm missing out on. Sure, I'll miss out on some great/ fucked up dreams but I'd rather be awake and conscious 24 hours out of 24. It would give me time to play through and possibly even 100% Final Fantasies 1 through 10 and the other two that aren't MMOs to name just a few RPGs.

I was just about to say that, but then I started to think about it. It actually might not be as fun as it sounds, think about it. All the days would run together, eventually driving you into madness. Oh well, maybe you'd get used to it.

OT: Probably breathing. Underwater adventures FTW!!!

Sleeping, a thousand times sleeping. Although it would be nice to not have to breath, I just can't help but think of how much I could get done without wasting 8 hours sleeping.

Either defecating or sleeping. Sleeping because I tend to hate my need for sleep, there aren't enough hours in the day. And if I didn't need to, I could still lay down and sleep when I wanted to, but there'd be no need for it. Defecating is more of a personal reason; I'm gay, and the rest should need no more explanation.

Drinking water. Surprised to be alone with that one. Out of all those different things you have to do, drinking water is pretty much the single most important one to your survival. Also, in a survival situation, clean water is likely the thing hardest to get. Thus, I'd gladly be able to go without ever having to drink it again, since that would give me an instant edge in survivability when the inevitable apocalypses come. ;D
