Lets just imagine that one day you bump into death or a wizard or some magical being that has the power to pull this kind of dickery about.
You bump into the death/wizard/etc. and they get all annoyed at you and shout "FOR INCONVENIENCING ME, I SHALL CURSE YOU FOR ALL TIME!" and they curse you so you are unable to play any platforms except the one of your choosing, for the rest of your life.
For example, if I got hit with the curse, I'd be cursed to play Nintendo for the rest of my life. I wouldn't see xbox games, wouldn't hear about them, wouldn't be able to pick up a controller, etc. There is no way around this curse, no way to dispel it, no work-around, nothing.

So what platform would you be cursed to play for eternity? Why that over anything else?

Yes I know PC isn't a console type, but for the interest of simplicity in this question's asking, lets pretend it is.
I also know the question is a little bit confusing, but I hope the poll choices help clarify what I mean.

Each selection includes all consoles and game types;
ex: Nintendo includes GBA, Wii, SNES, etc.
ex: PC includes flash games, solitaire, Steam, etc.

Edit: Thank you to <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/RhombusHatesYou>RhombusHatesYou for helping me clarify my question :)

Or you could have used 'platform' instead of 'console' rather than put the onus on others to pretend you didn't make a mistake.

Platform! Thats the word I was looking for thank you :D
I asked a friend of mine to help me clarify my question, but platform fits this better.

I'll just cop out and say PC cause I can play pretty much anything one way or another :p J/K :p

Being serious though I probably would just say PC because the selection is bigger and thanks to things like mods you'd never run out of things to play.

Probably Sony, honestly. A lot of good RPGs, and support for most of the really huge releases. Anything not on a Sony platform I can probably live with out. Their consoles are generally good media centers as well.
Y'know, I kinda like this idea. Makes having to decide what to buy all that much easier. Anyone know any wizards/deities I can bump into?

360. But only if I had some magical non-existent version that was ensured not to die.

Damn, Hm. The PS2, great library and backwards compatibility. Or maybe the PC, since you can emulate consoles through it and as time went forward, you could emulated old console generations on your PC.

Gotta be the PC, Hell you can play PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox games on it if you have the right emulators so you wouldn't miss out on much!

Give me faster internet for easier installation of games (since mine is honestly a piece of shit). And I will easily choose the PC. Such a wide variety of games to choose from as well as a unlimited number of sources to get them from.

Pretty simple choice. The PC because it can emulate most older consoles, has a massive current and back catalog of exclusives, and is upgradeable.

If forced to pick in today's climate I would say PC.

Too many strings attached with consoles and the Sony Corporation is a pack of smashed assholes, Microsoft will likely not live the decade and Nintendo does not make enough games I like. Also I am one of those PC gaming snobs you keep seeing people ***** and moan about...for the above reasons.

I'd go for Sony, with the PSOne and the PS2 combined (and PS3, if you must), I can play about 75% of the best games ever created (in my opinion).

However, if emulators count (which I assume they don't) I'd go for PC instead.

I want to say Sony since the PS1 and PS2 had a HUGE library of entertaining games for me, but if the PS3 is any indication of what to expect from 4+, then no thank you.

I will have to go with Nintendo, even though this last gen has been one of the most lackluster for them since they started in this business. Just a terrible, terrible selection, and their good games now are nowhere near the quality of their great games from the past. I will probably enjoy the wiiU as much as the wii, which is still nice but an overall disappointment.

I am not going to be happy regardless of what I choose, which is why I buy all the consoles. At the very least I will be held over by the little gems each one produces. None of platforms produce enough great things to be individually appealing anymore. Hell, I had to add the PC this gen, because the big 3 just couldn't hold up even all together.

Microsoft because i love my XboX more then my PC or PS3... Wait since Microsoft makes Windows and my PC runs on Windows surely I'd still be able to use it or play Games for Windows at the least...
