Poll: I'm looking at getting a cheap ps3 exclusive.... so... Demon Souls or Resistance 2,

Depends on what you like. Both are very different games. If you like a somewhat generic (from my experience) shooter with mediocre online play then go with Resistance 2. But if you don't care about online play and want a punishingly difficult but ultimately rewarding experience then go with Demon's Souls.


Personally, I wasn't all that interested in either of them. If you're looking for a PS3 exclusive, I'd suggest the Metal Gear series. cut-scene heavy yes, but still good games.

And was Demon souls punishingly hard to where it wasn't enjoyable?

I definitely agree that Resistance was mediocre, nothing about it was really that good, I lost interest almost immediately.

Demon's Souls on the other hand, is an excellent and punishing game! Well worth the price of entry.

Demon's Souls is easily one of my favourite JRPGs, it's a beautiful game and it's hard but never unfair. Except the 1-4 and 2-2 demons, those are unfair... but those are just two bosses.

The first Resistance is really fun. The 2nd one was terrible they took out everything good in the game. Like fun co-op, unique weapons and good level design. Basically it was the 'they changed it too much' thing.
Demon's Souls is hard and will take you a while to finish. Just don't pound all your points into magic like I did. I had to start over cuz i'd die in one hit.

Both Resistance games are very good.. Especially Resistance 2 multiplayer co-op.. Some of the best multiplayer i have experienced.. The edge of competition is away in a good matter, cause you are helping each other.. Somewhat like L4D2, you will only last a couple a minutes on your own, you need teamplay to win.

I would also recommend Uncharted, as it is the best ps3 game yet overall in singleplayer.
