I wouldn't say I buy more indie games than big budget games, but I definitely buy more than I used to.

In the end whether or not I purchase a game depends on the game's quality, I tend to focus on that more than who made the game with what kind of budget.

But having said that indie games are far easier to publish and promote these days so they're often reviewed and talked about as much as big-budget titles so because of that added exposure I find that I'm probably playing alot more indie games nowadays than I ever did.

I very rarely buy indie games, but when I do its stuff like Castle Crashers or Vampire Smile.

I think its morely to do with just not knowing whats out there, as 9/10 indie games have such an incredible atmosphere to them that I love playing them (Vampire Smile case in point).

I like indie games because they allow me to be more adventurous in my purchasing. Even if I don't like the game I bought it doesn't really matter, since I only spent like $10 or so.

I buy a lot more indie games than AAA mostly because I don't like the DRM and DLC the big companies destroys their games with.

I rarely buy indie games just because a lot of them to me seem to be more of a hour or two of fun before the gameplay gets a bit stale or there are just some glitches flaws that make me wish I had a physical copy to throw out the window. The last one I bought was Magicka, had some rage when it took me and a friend like an hour to get into each other's game. Seriously, repeated crashes, not being able to join, or just not finding the game at all is just terrible.

to be fair however its sually because indie games are only availible through online downloads...a model which cannot use (both for lack of credit card reasons and limited internet reasons)

like If I could get limbo or amnesia the dark decent in stores I'd definetly check them out (mabye not amnesia, I dont like being scared)

I have seen the penumbra collection in stores however...looks interesting

Err I actually don't mind that they aren't in retail, I am way too lazy to go out of my way to a store and hand over cash for a box and a disk that I will probably never use again. I was just saying that I'd like a disk when I'm frustrated with problems that plague indie games so I could destroy and or throw the disk in frustration/anger.

SpaceChem was and is hell of a lot better than I could've imagined. I can heartily recommend the demo. Few hours of mind-boggling entertainment even with the demo, it's surprisingly long.

I liked Magicka okay too.

Super Meat Boy is a very good platformer too, in all it's difficult and frustrating nature.

SpaceChem is amazing though. Check it out.

Well, I definitely buy more indie games than I used to, seeing as it wasn't until fairly recently that I started buying them at all. I still buy more AAA games though. A lot of indie games seem to focus a bit too much on being art and too little on being games. Nothing wrong with that, but it's just not my thing.

I think the last indie game I bought was Super Meat Boy. It's a great platformer, and pretty hard, too. There are many light world levels* that I've failed an embarrassing amount of times. You don't see those kind of games too often nowadays. I'd definitely recommend it.

[sub]*There are two versions of every level, light world and dark world. Light world is the easier variant.[/sub]

I buy more indie games than I used to partially because there's more of them these days and they're more readily available. :p

I haven't bought an actual game in the past 5 months or something, so I do not know. My last one was probably Minecraft, but I doubt that could be considered indie now anyway. I only get most games if they're £5 or so, I only get indie games if they're given to me for free.

Absolutely, indies have made some of the best games that have come out in years, they are almost always cheaper too. Can't beat an awesome cheap indy game sometimes!

Nope. I don't really see how it's the fount of creative ambition that many make it out to be. Indie, with some exceptions, seems to equate to side-scrolling platformer. When something good does come out, then the copy cats follow. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's definitely no better than AAA overall.

Indie games I've bought:
-World of Goo: I enjoyed this one, and still play it from time to time.
-Bit.Trip Beat: Loved it, haven't tried the others in the series yet.
-Minecraft: Not for me. I made a mountain into a mansion and then got bored and haven't played it again. I don't really see me going back to it.

I recently bought super meat boy, and learned that I am surprisingly terrible at platformers.
