So dearest Test subjects Escapist. We are back once again to...

You know what, Screw this Evil-Mind-Control-Jazz schtick. Look we just want to know who your favorite villain is. The rules are simple.

1. Choose your favorite villain and explain why you like him/her/it. Are their motivations neat? Do they have Badass lines? Are they as Handsome as me Do they have an interesting Demeanor or philosophy?

2. If you choose the Joker, then you have to choose another one as well. He's too popular damnit!

3. You can choose several if you want, but you still have to explain them.

4. If you mention any of us Leaguers you'll be granted limited amnesty from our endeavors ;)

5. GO!

I refuse to stroke Taco's ego. "What an idiot!" is the only viable option.

Hmm, I can't imagine who voted for the greatest one Taco. Can you?

OT: Somehow I always imagined you as a sort of Lex Luthor character. It's seems appropriate that you'd be a fan of his :)

This is basically how our meetings go anyway... You standing up there looking ridiculous in your "evil" super suit XD

Hey man, us evil people have to have a silly dress code; it might make the good guys laugh and we can catch them off balance!

I tend to like villains more than the heros. Often finding the villains in stories more interesting. I try to look at characters in a very shades of gray point of view, instead of simple calling a character evil.

*Possible Minor Spoilers*

Andrew Ryan and Sander Cohen are favorites of mine, although I never really found them to be villains in Bioshock, instead thought of Frank Fontaine more of the villain.

GLADos of course was really fun.

As far as comic book villains I was a big spider-man fan as a kid and loved Venom and Carnage, and in fact most of Spider-mans villains hold a special place in my heart. Joker of course is my favorite Batman villain, I also enjoy Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and the Riddler. Ozymandias was really great, The Watchmen is one of my favorite comics. Wanted, was a comic FULL of great villains, like Mr.Rictus, "I don't fuck goats, Mister Gison. I make love to them."

I have always had a soft spot for characters like Kefka, Boba Fett, Kevin Spacey in Seven, Xenomorph & Predator, Lisa from Girl Interrupted, Slappy & Cuddles from Goosebumps, Hitler, The Boss & the Rabbi from Lucky Number Slevin, Coach Joe Willis from the Faculty, Clover & Host, J.D. in Heathers, Prince Nuada from Hell boy II, The Grudge, Frank D'Amico in Kickass....ect,ect. *I am just thinking of random villains I like*

I could go on. I guess I don't really like to pick favorites. I'll just pick myself.

Dracula, specifically the Hammer Horror Dracula, played by the one and only Sir Christopher Lee. Not just because I think he has the most beautiful voice ever to pass through a man's lips. So much self control and restraint, he didn't constantly butcher everyone in his path. His demeanour was never overtly aggressive, he had class, poise, his silence was enough to inform you that he was a badass.

If you crossed him, he would eat you, if you killed him (so to speak) he would just come back, and not to mention, he was a soulless creature of the night who could kill you as quickly as he could look at you.

I gotta say Glados [is so original]

Funny and evil, now that's a great combo; and she does it all in the name of science.

Captcha: The virus that causes singles may already be inside you.
Err, that's only slightly concerning, Captcha. Only slightly.

I really like redemptive/redeemable villains, so Sailor Galaxia & Nightmare Moon
are really high on my list.
For a villain/enemy who makes a story better, makes you really think and the story
have meaning for me, I'm gonna go with the *real* big bad from season six of Buffy.
Which is of course--Real life.
And the true ultimate foe of the X-Men. It's not Magneto. It's not the Juggernaut,
or the Spirit King, or the Brood. It's something you can't punch, kick, claw, hit
with an energy beam or stop with an explosion. It's Hatred.
Fight THOSE all you tough guys!

Do you mean like fallen good guys you feel sorry for, or ones that are admirable but misguided/evil?

Doctor Doom is probably my all-time favorite villain. He's just such an effing badass and everyone knows it. He the go-to villain for heroes to turn to when they can't deal with something on their own XD

Sander Cohen is the antagonist you go up against in Fort Frolic, he is an insane playwright, artist and composer. Probably one of my favorite video game characters. You have to finish his "masterpiece" by going around and killing all the people who have betrayed him and take their pictures. Although he is an antagonist, he doesn't try to kill you as long as you don't try to kill him, so he isn't really a villain, atleast not towards you. I always side with Cohen. Fort Frolic is also considered to be the scariest part of the game.

I'll have to go with the Empire. Not Vader or the Emperor, they were incompetent power hungry morons, about as tactical as bantha pudu. It's the clever barves like Thrawn & Pellaeon that could have put down the rebellion no problem.

I barely remember that part :(

...That's what I get for playing through that game with a friend rather than by myself. I'll have to play through it again.

I only really remember the doctor you had to end up shocking, being the big daddy, going through that foresty area where Tanenbaum was, Andrew Ryan killing himself, and the fight with Fontaine.

I like both.
I also like "bad guys" who at some point are revealed to have had very different motivations
than what the audience would have expected--motivations that could in fact cast them as "good guys".
I also like antagonists who aren't "bad", but have legitimate reasons for working against the protagonist(s).
Amanda Waller from JLU is a prime example of that last category.

She was the Ultilitarian lady who was also in Batman Beyond right?

I don't think she was actually in Batman Beyond. What you are probably thinking of is JLU season one
episode 26, which functionally was a Batman Beyond episode. If I could make the spoilers work, I'd
throw in a little blurb about the episode but I don't want to spoil it on the off-chance that someone
here hasn't seen it yet.
Waller was the head of Cadmus--the government organization that was tasked with R&D of ways to take
down metahumans in general and the Justice League in particular--just in case. This had them cast as
antagonistic to the League, but I always understood and agreed with the logic behind it.
