I'm honestly really glad she lost. Her ego was getting huge and she's very unsportsmanlike. I hate her fanbase who think she's the greatest. She's only ever fought people who aren't that good and now they put her up against somebody who can actually fight, she gets put in her place.

Are you guys happy with the outcome?

You should have, "Does not give a flying fuck" as an option. I enjoy watching people torque joints and beat the shit out of each other as much as the next guy, but the sad attempt to elevate it already makes me a little sick. It's a bunch of genetic freaks with mental issues in it for the money or a terminal need to compete. You don't have to like them, just enjoy the spectacle. Or rather, be honest that it's what you've been doing all along.
Whoa bro, watch that edge. You might hurt someone.

But for real, if you're gonna come in here with a shitty attitude, why even bother to comment?

Shitty attitude? You may need to look at your OP there.

Funny, I don't see anything overly aggressive or insulting like your post is filled with. But if my attitude in the OP is shitty, yours is like super-shitty.
Err... you are looking at the names correctly, right?

I'm more amused than anything. I was sort of rooting for her because she's the face of female MMA and I really want that division to keep rolling, but I also love a good underdog victory so I'm cool with the outcome. I just wish that Ronda had learned from Bethe's mistakes.

I derive a grim satisfaction from her losing. There's a certain schadenfreude in seeing a hype train derail and burst into flames.

I don't know enough about Rousey to dislike her personally (although her abilities seem to have been ridiculously overrated by everyone involved, her included), it's more her insufferable fans that needed shutting up. Insane statements like "she could beat Mayweather" "she's better than Bruce Lee" "she could easily beat Bjorn Hafthor" were unironically being bandied about before she had the smug sense of superiority wiped off her face. A small victory for humility and keeping a sense of perspective. Perhaps.

Yes but not because I hate her. Its that she lost spectacularly. That Dodge/duck/weave by Holly was amazing.

I admire boxing but I find the sports organization to be overall corrupt. Watching her has been somewhat of a fresh breathe of air.

Sigh... I should have bet money on that fight...

Yes. That'll teach her for thinking that a Dragon/Water pokemon wouldn't have weaknesses. And for apparently forgetting about Kingdra.

That's literally all I know about her. These MMA people just aren't my type

I'm not necessarily glad Rousey lost so much as I'm happy Holm won.

Out of all Rhonda Rousey's opponents, Holly Holm is the only one who didn't run her mouth trash talking. She was respectful of Rousey's skill and athleticism, appreciative of her contribution to the sport and acknowledged that she'd be a tough opponent to beat.

But that said, I'm glad a striker won because I'm tired of watching fighters primarily skilled in BJJ take the fight to the ground.

(Of course, I'm a little biased since I trained in muay thai.)

I'm a little sad that she lost. I liked the undefeated champion streak she had going on. But I'm as much as a fan to hear about who wins and loses when it becomes news relevant and I haven't invested any more than that.
Because she was on a lot of talk shows and whatnot mostly promoting the (new?) female fights in MMA, a lot of people who paid no attention to it got to hear about it mostly through her.
In some ways she was someone to look up to because she was doing so well and working hard.

All in all, everyone can be beaten. I'm curious how her first lose will play out in future matches and what will happen with her raising fame that came with her undefeated record until recent.

I'm glad she lost. I'm a big MMA fan, and I do recognize that she is a great fighter and has done a ton to bring women's MMA to the mainstream, but her attitude and arrogance were becoming insufferable. I think she was really starting to believe all the people who were proclaiming her as being this 'once in a millenia' athlete and that she couldn't be beaten.

But I have no intense hatred towards her, I hope she learns some humility and gets refocused so she can compete again. It's pretty obvious that her training has slipped (she looked gassed by the end of the first round).

From what I've seen from her on the media, she seems abrasive and egotistical. That said, the media is incredibly effective at portraying people in ways that are totally inconsistent with how those people actually are in private, as long as it fits their narrative. So I'm not going to jump on the Ronda hate train, but I'm not going to shed any tears over her defeat either.

I don't really know that much about the UFC. One second *Google* Ok, I can't find much. Can anyone give me some pointers as to what's happening?

If she's going to try and box an Olympic boxer then yeah, glad she lost.

It's nice to see champions rise and fall, gives us underdogs to root for and shows us that no one is invincible.
