Its just i never played it and it sounds really good of a game and i don't like being scared so it is really THAT scary. of a game.

Please specify why it is scary.

Note:never ever played a horror game before closest thing i have got to a Horror game is Nazi Zombies which doesn't scare me [and its properly not supposed too]

First time I played Bioshock 1, I was sorta scared (to the point of turning it off), then I came back to it later that year and I didn't find it scary in the least. Yay for desensitization.

EDIT: It was probably my first scary-ish game ever so that sort of explains it a bit.

The first game is a bit frightening the first 15 minutes or so when you play it for the first time.

I don't see how the second one is supposed to be scary though, considering you are a big hunk of metal walking around.

Bits are scary. My first fun run in with a splicer and my first fight with a big daddy were scary in the firt game. The first time a big sister popped up in the game, it wa pretty scary.
But was I scared overall? No.

I think the word to describe it would be atmospheric. Bioshock isn't, "scary," just as Dead Space isn't. What it is, is a very atmospheric game. It might be creepy at some parts, but I wouldn't call it scary.

I didn't find it scary, but that isn't saying much anyways. I'm quite hard to scare.
I didn't feel as if it was trying to be really scary, more creepy or atmospheric.

1: the spider splicer at the beginning and the dentist.
2: cant think of any.

EDIT: oh yeah. And Sander Cohen scared me. especially with that bunny recording.

I couldn't play the first (haven't tried the second). I'm an extremely jumpy person, to the point where if you just walk up behind me and politely say hello, I might freak out and start swinging (I hit my mom once like this. Made me feel like an awful son). The game has a lot of startles, and it gave me so much anxiety while playing it. I would walk extremely slowly and take peeks around corners. Usually I would then walk around the corner and then turn around and run away because I saw a shadow or something. Then when I heard people talking, I'd freeze.

There's also a good bit of gory and gristly stuff, something I'm also not a fan of.

I quit playing after the first boss.

From what I've heard (I haven't had the chance to play either), Bioshock 1 is scary, although not a horror game, and in Bioshock 2, you're farting around in a Big Daddy suit, meaning you're scaring the crap out of the NPCs.

Bioshock 2 isnt at all, and the only scene in Bioshock that freaked me out was the dentist scene.

It's creepy at the begining. Then it isn't when the awesome character team died.
Oh, and Bioshock 2 is scary, but only in the sense that they could publish such crap.

I got three quarters of the way through Bioshock without ever really feeling scared. Then one day I turned it on and I just got the willies. I haven't ever been able to finish it. There's almost never anything that jumps out at you, and the enemies themselves aren't all that scary, but the creepy atmosphere got under my skin and I couldn't take it anymore.

I think you're confusing scary with atmospheric and tense. Nothing about the games are scary, but they do a good job of building tension and being pretty. Atlthough, Bioshock 1 had one incredible moment where there was a room of clay statues, which would slowly move closer to you when they were off camera. Unnerving yes, but not scary. I mean i turned around instead of them beng at the ends of the room against the wall they were in a half-circle around my back. However, they still didn't attack so after I took some time to appreciate how awesome that was I shocked the water we were standing in and they all died. If that strikes you as too scary to play, then maybe pass 1, but play 2. 1 never gets any scary than that, and it's rarely that scary at all.

Bioshock 1 and 2 scare me as much as Condemned. Not really incredibly frightening but the creepy atmosphere just makes you more aware and careful..

There are a few moments in Bioshock where Ive panicked or jumped but I do that in alot of games if something comes up when Im not expecting it.

At first when you have a wrench until you are shooting bolts of lightning out of your hand then it comes a big laugh.

Bioshock 2 made me jump, once. Because a teleporting splicer on the hardest difficulty appeared without warning in my face when I next to no health.

Note to all: Going mental with the Rivit Gun in a tense situation can save your life!
