I noticed that the Nexus I is supposedly the new iPhone killer. But I mean honestly how many iPhone killers have there been? BlackBerry Storm, Palm Pre, The Droid, and a myriad of others. Why haven't they toppled it? Because Apples domination with a perfect app market as well as sleek phone and OS. They crush everything else. I love google and think the android OS is pretty solid, but I don't know if this could be the one, or maybe it is the long awaited iPhone killer, what do you think?

No new technology kills off what it is claimed to kill off.
It's just a hook to get people to buy it.

Meh, I don't have an iPhone. I'm happy with my battered old phone that I can still talk to people on.

I'm glad my phone only let's me phone people and send text messages. When they bring out a mobile that can make me a cheese sandwhich with just the right amount of Branston pickle...then I'll be impressed.

Can you put a "It's just a phone why does it matter in the slightest" option?

So the iPhone has a Shoop Da Whoop app?

I guess there is an app for everything.

Perfect...

I'm going to quote you a lot... I just know it...

I don't even open texts... It could be titled "(My Name) I'm having a topless party!". I'd never look at it.

I've never really been that bothered about mobile phones to be honest. As long as I can make and receive both texts and calls, I'm happy.
...
Oh, no apathetic option. :/ ...

Nothing will kill the iPhone, not like anyone really believes it for more than a week. Personally, all I use my phone for is calls and texts, but I can see why the iPhone has both mass appeal and easy accessability. And it doesn't seem like any "iPhone killers" can have both of those things at once compared to Apple's overbearing consumer juggernaut.

You're probably right.

Personally, I couldn't care less. I still have a battered old Sony Ericsson w200i. It looks like a brick, but Ive had it 2 years, dropped, thrown it, submerged it, and it still works fine.

If I got an iPhone it would be broken in the first month, guaranteed. As long as I can call people and text people, I dont give 2 shits how many apps a phone has.

The iphone is a happy middle-ground between a laptop and a phone, there are already a bunch of alternatives, but apple are the cool kid in town at the moment, they've got their fanboys.

I don't see anything "killing" it because even if sales for the iphone drop by 50%, it will still be around, and apple will still make more.

Having a competitor pop up would be hard as apple have had a big head start. Anything to replace it will have to replace the whole infrastructure to get people to migrate.

I am looking for a touch screen browser/phone/mp3 player atm, and I won't be getting an iphone.

I don't want to support all this propriety bullshit. I want to choose what headphones I use, I want to use memory cards that I use for other stuff, I want to use generic usb cables (that I have loads of spares), I don't want to have to install an app to access my phone from my pc. I want to choose shit for myself.

Maybe there's a huge market for apple haters like me?
