Now that the Euros have been and gone, Fantasy Football for the Barclays Premier League is up and running (well Sky Sports' one is at least)

So I have taken it upon myself, at least for this one anyway, to make a private league for The Escapist!

So for anyone that is interested, you can create a new team here [http://fantasyfootball.skysports.com/new-team/] (although I would recommend signing up first - it's free)

Then once you've made your team (you can have either one or two), go here [http://fantasyfootball.skysports.com/leagues/join/] to join the league.

You've just chose big Titus Bramble, there's always the possibility of him missing a few games through a rape allegations. He's been accused of rape two seasons in a row, the first time he wasn't put on trial but his brother went down. Also he's fucking shit.

The worst part of him playing shit is that he plays for the team I support Sunderland. I don't think Podolski will score many goals but I think he'll be an assist machine, his goal scoring record isn't spectacular.

I imagine Crouch will continue to mister reliable when comes to goals. Suarez should also get a few plus a number of assists (if Liverpool don't play cross bar challenge all season again). The midfield players should provide a lot of assists and a couple of goals.

Right, now that the first round of fixtures for all the teams are over, here are the standings so far. Note that the numbers from left to right are total points, goals and, finally, assists. Also I've bolded the names and underlined the teams because it seems The Escapist does not allow me to put in more than one space and I needed a way to make them look different

Of course, you'll be playing a very minor bit of catch-up but given that it's the first week, I highly doubt it'll be much of a struggle.

Top of the pile, softens the blow of West Brom beating Liverpool. Great start, though many games left to play. I hope Silva and Saurez remember where the goal is next game otherwise I will not be pleased.

I think posting each week in the same thread is best. Easier to keep track of that way.

Also we could sort out some prizes like spare game codes and shit. If this was made a little earlier I could have put two Commando Dom GoW 3 character codes up for grabs.

Prizes might be a good idea, or at least some sort of honour for the winner. I'd also suggest some sort forfeit for the person in last place at the end of season or at the end of each month to add a little more edge to proceedings.

I can possibly donate some Fifa 12 Ultimate team players on PS3. The new fifa comes out in October so ideally these prizes would have to be given before then maybe the top person in 3 more weeks. I've got pretty much every Sunderland player including in-form Larsson and Sessegnon.

I have steam codes for Nuclear Dawn and Frozen Synapse going spare that I'd be willing to put forward as prizes. As for embarrassing avatars as forfeits I'd suggest since this is a football related thread, I imagine most of us have a team that we support. So as a forfeit I suggest that the person in last changes their avatar to their team's rival's emblem for a period of time. For example a Liverpool fan would change to an Everton avatar, a United fan to a City one etc.
