Poll: I've done something terrible... a thread about avatars

Fellow Escapists, I have committed a most heinous act. I have changed my avatar... and it doesn't involve Vegeta. What have I done?! How could I have committed such an atrocity?!

*ahem*

Anyway, when you change your avatar (or should I say if you change it), do you ever try to stick to a certain theme? Do you have any rules for your avatars like 'all my avatars will revolve around X'? For example, I usually try and have all my avatars involve Vegeta in some way but this time I went for something else DBZ based and went for Goku and Freeza instead. Or do you just pick whatever you fancy at that time?

I was apparently waving Cox in their face and they didn't like it at all, said I was forcing Cox down their throats or something silly.
But that's just absurd, everyone loved Cox. I got various admiring glances and messages about Cox too.

I just pick something that I like. Usually, it'll be the cover of a certain album I enjoy. But since this is a video game site, I decided to go with one of my favourite games. I don't really stick to any one thing though.

Also, I absolutely DESPISE animated avatars. But eh, that rant is for another time.

I have had the same avatar since I joined in 2008...with one slight adjustment

I have had multiple people question my minor change (hell, I believe that Hazy has been one to yell at me for my change : ) but I find it hilarious, so that makes it OK! So except for changing the file, my avatar has never changed.

I could be wrong. One of the regular people I talked to yelled at me about it (and the good fun loving kind of yelling, not an angry yell). I could have sworn it was you but that could very easily be wrong.

I even looked at my inbox to see if I could find the person who quoted it but it's been deleted.

I never change mine.

I always find it oddly distressing when someone I recognize changes theirs. (Yes, I'm looking at you Vault 101... although at least you keep the Footrot Flats thing.) Suddenly I have to start reading the actual names. It's like having to read a workmate's nametag in order to recognise then. Horrible!

Me, I've been using this ugly chap here in various places for close on a decade now. I'm rather attached to him.

I don't plan on changing my avatar anytime soon, but if I do, it'll probably be a Black Rock Shooter related GIF.

Well, it has to be an anime avatar, first of all. Usually involving my favorite anime and characters

I do prefer .gif images that revolve around the head or upper torso, much like my current avatar, and if not animated, I usually prefer a blank background.

I don't follow any theme, but I do at least try to keep mine for a few months. I requested Caramel Frappe to make my current one, so I'll probably keep it for at least half a year before even thinking of changing it.

Also, shame on you Hazy. Shame on you.
