With Dragon Age 2 out in little more than a month, The Old Republic launching this year, and Mass Effect 3 ending the trilogy this year or 2012...Bioware will suddenly have a lot of time on it's hands. Outside of the MMO crew maintaining TOR, at least.

Anyone else thinking they should start making a Jade Empire 2?

I loved the original! It took me a while though. At first I didn't like it at all, but it grew on me terribly.

I have been hoping for a JE2 for years. The first one had it's problems and was a bit short but I always thought it had potenial. I do not understand why they abandoned it. But I think they really should do another.

Well... I don't think it sold that well, but I do distinctly remember them thinking about it.

They definitely should do one if the first one has a loyal fanbase and all, but I would really rather if BioWare took a stab at an Alpha Protocol-like setting or something else modern.

Also, just for the hell of it, could you describe the first game for me? Haven't played that one since I wasn't really a fan of BioWare, but, after Mass Effect 2, I want to go through all of their titles I've missed.

I can't really say, aside from Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire is the one Bioware game I haven't played. Traditionally, Bioware has been good at now stagnating with milking any one title, so it would be sweet if they could continue on with that and make their next game a new IP

ME2 was awful, dragon age was good but dragged on alot.

Also, just for the hell of it, could you describe the first game for me? Haven't played that one since I wasn't really a fan of BioWare, but, after Mass Effect 2, I want to go through all of their titles I've missed.

Brawler/RPG hybrid. You had a lot of different fighting styles to choose and invest in. From swords to transformations to fire magic to fists to status effect styles.

And the usual assortment of awesome Bioware teammates.

Jade Empire was excellent, they should make a Jade Empire 2 the story was amazing and I really did love the combat with the fighting styles.(although I was kinda sad the PC version didn't have legendary strike)

The jade empire in the story is loosely based on chinese culture and legend. But it is not that bad.

It had the Legendary Strike. I used it all the time.

OT: As much as I enjoyed the first game, I don't think a sequel would be a good thing. I would love another game in the same spirit, but not an actual sequel.

Jade Empire was good, but the game played more along the lines of 'think of what we could do' than 'look at what we've got'.

The only thing it needs is an improved combat system really. No more over-powered staff fighting.
