I know I'm late for this, but, why did they EVER port Katamari Damacy to the X box 360? I mean, they said, it was for multiplayer or something, but the multiplayer on that game sucks, I would rather play alone.

The much more OBVIOUS choice, IF THEY HAD to leave the playstaion, would have been the Wii! I mean, that's one of the first things I had to do for that console, Pretend to ROLL a ball out of my way, for some game! Why not turn it into a Katamri game, I mean, it would be able to handle the graphics of that game for sure, the graphics were always cartoony...

Sorry for the rant, I just had to get this out there...

Obviously they made Beautiful Katamari because XBOX was selling like crazy at that point, and it had a strong consumer base.
WII'a controller would be great for this. Twisting the wiimote would be such a natural way to control your rolling.

At this point they can't seem to decide, or bother to tell us, which console is going to get the next one. WII and PS3 versions were in the talks, but they have seemed to be forgotten.

That would be awesome, I mean how easy would it be, for ANYONE to play that game, if they had a wii mote? They would easily expand there base, I mean, my grandmother tried playing it once, and she liked it, but, controls were to hard for her...

IIRC they were developing it for PS3 and X360 but the PS3 version was cancelled because the devs couldn't be bothered to make a lot more money and receive greater recognition. The Wii would be an interesting console for it if the majority of users weren't... you know... those people.
I thought the Wii owner stereotype went something like "will only play a game if it's simple, cheery, colorful and has unique controls"? Even if it was true, Katamari is a great fit. Why would it not sell?

Go Go Dollar Katamari
1) roll up Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, some Wii controls
2) roll up eyeballs through advertising in non-gaming media
3) roll up many fans from their Wii Fit -furnished living rooms
4) profit

No, no, no, you're doing it wrong! It's 3) ????, then 4) Profit!

Anywho, a KD for the PS3 would be awesome, especially with next-gen graphics.

This may be one of the only times, if not the only, that I will say that I preferred the PlayStation controller over something else. For Katamari, it made more sense to have symmetrical control sticks.

Without much development from game to game there's no real need to make another Katarmari game. I guess if the PS3 in question is not backwards compatible then it could be beneficial to remake the game but really I'd rather see some progression.

There is a new game by the makers of Katamri Damacy in the works for the Ps3, but its not a Katamari game. Its called Nobi Nobi Boy, and seems just as fucked up.
Good news, then.
