Motion gaming in general is more of a novelty to me, which is probably why most of the kinect games are so casual looking. It's just too hard to accurately read movement with motion controls and while I can see some slightly interesting applications it just doesn't interest me.

Plus I played video games all weekend, forcing me to stand up the whole time wouldn't have been cool.

I voted "No" because there wasn't a "Meh" option. I'm apathetic to the Kinect. In the future I may start to like it, I don't know. Or I may start to hate it. Or I may still be apathetic.

But right now, I don't care at all for the Kinect or its games.

^This about sums it up for me.

The entire point of playing videogames is because I DON'T WANT to be up doing the "I'm A Derpy-Derp" dance in front of the tv. I'd rather sit down with a nice cool can of Dr. Pepper and immerse myself in a world that requires only that I be sitting down, preferably in a relaxed mood, and paying attention.

agreed.

the dance games are surprisingly kind of fun when drunk, gives you a decent work out before you pass out on the couch lol

otherwise still is, and nearly always will be, a gimmick.

Oh Kinect? That thing that was marketed as being the next big step forward despite being not significantly different to the 9 year old Eyetoy? [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EyeToy]
Guess what my opinion is.

It was and always will remain an expensive gimmick that without emergency measures will soon be a relic of the past (well it pretty much already is).

Pretty much useless. There are no good games for the thing, and if their are no good games for it, why would I ever purchase it? Even the Wii had a few good core games a year in. The Kinect has nothing going for it. :/

They didnt go far enough, for what it is now it is just a cool piece of tech that doesnt really do anything for gaming in general

When it works well, or is incorporated smoothly into a traditionally controller only game, it really adds a little something special to games that I haven't found with either the PS Move or Wii. Unfortunately this only seems to be about 20% of the time.

Glad someone remembers that it existed before.

As for the Kinect, I have 9 games for it and my only disappointment so far has been Kinect Star Wars.

The concept is good and when the game is designed properly but too many times the interactions are just sloppy. Dance Central and its sequel are the best games for it by far. There are a lot of other fun games for it including the game that comes with it: Kinect Adventures.

I do think that motion controls will always be additional to gaming. I don't see myself with Kinect Final Fantasy anytime soon. I even found Zelda quite the nuisance with motion controls.

You think that having multiplayer tacked on is annoying? How about Mass Effect 3 tacking on voice commands with the Kinect? What the fuck was wrong with voice control through a microphone?

Has it really been a year already? I still have the same opinion....it sucks and is stupid and motion controls are a stupid gimmick like 3DTV.

Kinect, you say? I think it's pretty awesome. Without it I wouldn't know how to do stuff like this on my own in realtime:

Oh, as a gaming device, you say?

huh, no idea.

It's amazing at absolutely everything apart from what it was designed for. As gaming hardware, it sucks, but there are loads of cool things being done so that it can help surgery, for example.

Nay, i`ll stick to Move, which is sooo much better and feature way more games, not only this casual stuff.

...just kidding. I`ve yet to see a game i want to play (for both Kinect and Move).
Nintento got at least their good homegrown stuff for the Wee. I rented one once and had a blast with Mario Galaxy.
