I've never really been that much into Zelda games, but being a part of the games industry you get a sub-conscious feeling about these sorts of franchises and they bring a tear to your eye.

Nintendo are developing a HD remake of the popular title 'The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker' and everyone is going mental about it. I, for one, don't think the remake is going to do the game any sort of praise. I've seen the alpha screenshots and it looks more or less the same but with more shaders and an intense amount of visual bloom (more like visual boom!).

Below is a screenshot which Nintendo released; reply with your opinion on this matter!

More screenshots and videos can be found here [http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/01/23/zelda-wind-waker-getting-wii-u-remake].

It looks beautiful but unless they fix the awful camera and bad dungeon design and dumb plot turn for Tetra which accounts for nothing, I could care less. That, and boat travel is so boring...

A Majora's Mask remake would be more welcome because the story and setting are phenomenal. Gameplay and design is still aged poorly though.

I'd prefer a Majora's Mask remake, as one can still play Wind Waker. The Gamecube game is still fully playable on Gamecube and Wii (is Wii U compatible with Gamecube games?). Majora's Mask is harder to play. The N64 is an old system. Controllers, cartridges, and even systems are giving out after all this time. I'd like the older classic games to be brought back, rather than the newer ones. But Wind Waker was a good game, so I guess I can't complain. Those screenshots look gorgeous as well.

I'm not sure if the Wii-U can play N64 games but apparently, soon it'll have it's own built-in NES/SNES emulator!

Just a heads up, the Wii has had N64 games downloadable for a while now, including Majoras Mask and OOT which you can play with the Gamecube controller or the Classic controller. I'm sure the Wii U will have this feature soon enough.

OT: I'm still skeptical about this remake, Wind Waker still looks gorgeous to this day, especially in 1080p in Dolphin. I'd rather see a Majoras Mask remake or an LttP one. I'm curious to see if they'll fix or change the infamous triforce chart quest though.

Wind Waker is still gorgeous due to its art style. It barely ages. This remake is completely unnecessary. Wind Waker is by far my favourite Zelda game and even one of my favourite games of all time but I see no reason to buy this when I can happily play my Gamecube version whenever I please.

I know I'll be getting it. I never got to play it, I instead watched a friend beat it and chose to not borrow it. I guess things were simpler when I was younger, my friends and I didn't feel the need to play a game if we saw someone else play through it, with the exeptions of KOTOR and Fable.

I'm a huge Zelda fan, I'll probably get the HD Wind Waker. That said, first Zelda-related thing I want you to do Nintendo? Oracle games on the eShop. They're the only two Zelda games I don't have copies of, and I want them now!

This poll is terrible. I want to show my appreciation for my favorite Zelda game, not Zelda games in general (even if I do love them so).

I'm excited for a remake, because my Gamecube memory cards have all stopped working correctly, and would really like to have a save file that won't get corrupted after a few years of non-use.

There's too much bloom in that screenshot, but I'm sure the HD version will look great. I mean, the original game still looks great even as an SD game on HDTVs.

Yeah i'd rather a Majora's Mask remake too!

The screen shot has too much bloom but everything else looks good. I'll be interested if they improve the game rather than just redo the visuals. The games few flaws hold it back (Triforce hunt, Tingle maps, easiness, emptiness. Inventory shuffling.) If they take the game and add the scraped dungeons it will be a day one buy for me.

I like OoT, MM, and especially TP. I do not care for Wind Waker, and I particularly detest Skyward Sword. So, coupled with the fact that I don't have a Wii U, and I won't be getting one any time soon, I can't say I particularly care about this.

Also, still don't like Wind Waker's art style.

Needs moar bloom. The effect is too subtle. How will I know that it is next gen without moar bloom. Also new textures are not HD enough. The problem with the horrible art style of Wind Waker was always that it's textures were too simple and not busy enough.

When I heard I was like "HD Wind Waker?, how can you HD cell shaded graphics?" but looking at the screens I was so wrong!

I think given the art style, it's kinda wasted effort to do an HD remake for The Wind Waker. It doesn't look bad at all, even for today's standards. As others have said, I'd have preferred a remake for something much older than it. Having said that, I may end up buying it anyway if I do get a Wii U and can find it cheap enough.

I love the way it looks like an oil painting which for me it beats the cartoon look. I just hope that they put in the 2 dungeons they had to take out of the GameCube version do to time constraints :( and maybe just for the hell of it, include the multiplayer mode that the Japanese version had, I mean it could be fun for online play
