Hello, so i was wondering where you guys shop for good deals on HDTV's. I currently have a 1080i 32-inch Samsung and LOVE IT. But I am moving next month and I now have space for a tv up to 50inchs and considering I love movies/gaming I want something bigger.

LCD is what I have, I don't know much about LED So I was also wondering which you would suggest.

So where would you shop? And what kind of HD tv would you buy...Needs to be under $1,000

Try Target or Best Buy.

Maybe find yourself a tv that's 120hz.

LED is best, but is expensive and the sound sucks (but speakers will easily remedy)
Plasma is next, and is less expensive
LCD is worst, but still very good, and is cheaper than the other two.

You can get a 50" Panasonic plasma for £599 at John Lewis with a five year guarantee, which is pretty awesome.

I'd probably invest in an LED if I were you

edit:- dollars? American? Either way, the second part of my post is useless to anyone not from england

If you game on it the Plasma's ghosting is annoying. It's to a point that it's hard to do permanent damage, but it will last a while after you are done playing, especially static images such as a radar, etc.

I've found that if you are in an area that is darker, plasma's look great because of the the dark blacks it does, but if the room has a lot of natural light, the LCD has less reflection and is a bit easier to see.

LED's are of course the best, but if you find a 50' for under $1000, let me know!

I'd vote LED, LCD, and then Plasma, in that order.

They are arranged by quality, and also price (what a coincidence).

I like in England so...not entirely sure what to suggest.

I bought a 40" Samsung for £400(bit more than $600?)not long ago, and I love it. I suspect you could get that kind of thing cheaper in the states, if you're not looking to break the bank in order to get the very latest tech, it's a good bet.

I have a Sony Bravia, and it's really nice. Its LCD 1080p and 120hz, great for gaming or watching blu-ray. Plus, it's in your price range.
