So escapists, how lucky are you?

Lucky in love?
Lucky in Competitions?
Lucky in general?

I myself won a Logitech G13 gameboard last year =D

If you feel lucky in some respect feel free to post a comment and brag about it ;)

EDIT:

The "I don't believe in luck." option isn't showing up unfortunately :/

Well, things have always had a way of working itself out for me before, and though I'm not kind of avoiding relationships I used to be extremly popular with the ladies.

Never won anything, love of my life is stuck five states away while I'm stuck here and it could be over fifteen years till we can be together, and I keep getting passed over at work due to non-work related issues (like friends getting hired into management only to get fired for incompetence a year later), and my family is spread to the four winds cause they don't get along so I hardly ever get to see anyone.

But I was invited to every Blizzard Beta from Diablo 2 to WoW: Lich King, so it's all good!

I don't believe in luck. Someone could be fortunate something turned out in their favor, but it's just chance. People can't be lucky, because previous fortunate events don't really affect the outcome of future events.

But that's what luck is, chance with a positive outcome.

That's irrelevant, someone can still have more fortunate events happen to them even if previous events do not affect future ones.

Normally I am quite lucky, but get me anywhere near a set of dice and they'll fail relentlessly. Which is a pity really as I love playing D&D and Warhammer.

Luck in the small things, like winning contests, raffles, etc., I'm not very.
Luck in love, I kind of negate myself. I've been avoiding relationships lately. Too busy.

But, and this is going to sound cheesy, I am lucky enough to have a good family and good health. Told you. Cheesy. But I'll take that over anything.

Lucky in Love?
I dont know... I've hard so far 3 girlfriends, each one is devoted to the relationship, and we understand one another. One Died, the other it just wouldnt have worked out, and the third (current) is going strong. I've had enough girls be comfortable around me where if I desired I could probably make that leap to relationship. But then again... the whole have had three, one died and hte other we broke up (on mutual terms) sways that.

Lucky in Competitions?
I'm skilled in competition, but I do get luck. There's been plenty of hockey shots I was lucky to make or advancements I would make in online competitions because my stats where just alittle bit better (usually by one). However, as I said on the you Goofed Up thread, in the intermural hockey playoffs at my college, I scored the losing goal on my own net when I tried to just give a hard slap shot to the other side of the ice.

Lucky in General?
I'd say I'm fifty fifty.

Though it helps when you dont believe in bad luck.

I am lucky in all things i do = P My life is best described as repeatedly falling down the stairs and ending up at the bottom on my feet with everything lookin better than it ever did before.

Although u know what they say. U make ur own luck, maybe im just good at making the best out of bad situations?

I never won a competition in my life unless I knew the competition was weaker than me prior to the competition (because that was the reason I entered into it).

My love life is the worst when it comes to luck. I would get girls to like me more than just friends and then they would pull the "not now", "I'm too busy", or the "I really really like you but not really really really like you"... And the girlfriends I do get I have fun with, but that's it, I never got to the point where I could enjoy being with just them for at least the majority of the rest of my life.

And I don't even know where to begin in my regular life... I had a seizure last July and wasn't able to drive for 6 months (this January I got the privileged back). Then I got a brand new car ($21k was the price before taxes and rebates). That is probably the ONLY good (and it was great) thing to happen to me in the past 5 years... 3 weeks later I have another one and now I can't drive at least until September. This sucks ALOT when I need my car to live my life for the most part. Now I have to rely on my parents for the time being which helps me even less.

luck and privilege are different. so, just being able to obtain items that you want is a privilege of having the cash to spend on it ... the mustering of that money might show if you have luck or not. were you lucky enough to get the dream job that pays $XX an hr? or did you get a similar job in your field that pays shit?

I think luck factors into stuff like that, but I'm also down with karma too. Karma has always been rough for my severe case of schadenfreude.

Okay, even if we accept luck as chance with a positive outcome, it is not a trait a person can posses. So if I answer the question from the post; Yes, people can feel lucky about certain outcomes. But if I answer the poll question, a person does not have a luck trait, so they can't feel they are a "lucky" person.

Well, they can feel theey're lucky because they recognize how easily things could have gone differently, but that's a different question too.

I have pretty good luck. I get random bursts of luck when trying to find stuff in schoolwork, I get tons of lucky breaks in videogames, and when I'm in deep trouble, I have a 60% chance of pulling out a sudden burst of luck that saves my bacon (a last second extension on a project I forgot I had, avoiding 2 fatal attacks in a row in an RPG and then countering with 3 criticals in a row, etc)

My luck is CRAP for dice, though. I used to play dungeons and dragons and oh my gosh...every time I NEEDED a good roll, I would get the worst rolls possible.

Both my girlfriend and my best friend have often told me I have the luck of the devil. Lucky in love, definitely. And almost every time I forget to do homework or something important, something will happen on that day and only that day which means I get off scot-free. My friends have often stared open-mouthed at the luckiness, although I don't get along with my family, so I chose the second one.

Come to think of it first would be more accurate, and I have two black cats and STILL all my luckiness XD
