well,i just heard about a game called M.A.G (Massive action game) exclusively for the PS3 and it supposedly is going to have 256 players in a single game,i just wanted to know do you think having 256 players in a single game is a good idea,if so why?

Well, it would be illegal to lie, so yes, there will be 256 players.

It's an innovative idea, and whether or not it works remains to be seen. I tink it'll work, as long as players conform to that style of gameplay (squad based tactical).

Yes, I've been reading about this game for a while know, and they've been bragging about having 256 players since I heard about it.

Also, it looks pretty damn sweet.

I can say, quite confidently, that there are 256 players in this game. It was shown at E3 as running 256 players, and it's their big "on the box" feature. There are other reasons I can say it has 256 players, of course, but I shouldn't really get into that.

I was really excited for this game when i heard of it last year (MAG) but since then i traded out my PS3. but as for the question, there is the ability to hold 256, but i think that full games may be a rare occurrence.

A bunch of my friends have the beta, and it has 256 players in it. They aren't allowed to lie about things like that.

Also, I'm currently in the beta for it. It's a decent FPS. The 256 players thing is just a giant gimmick. You only ever see about 20 people in a map the same size as any other FPS.

Nothing to get too excited for.

How big will the maps be? Will the game experience bad lag? Will the game have any interesting things other than the large player-per-map claim?

Yes, there will., I played in the beta, and there is a 256 player game mode., And if worked perfectly.

Not really. Other games have supported a lot of players before. Adding a few more isn't really innovation. There's an entire genre focused on having thousands of players in the same game.

The reason you don't see 256 player shooters much is because smaller, tighter games worked better. Innovative would be if they came up with a bunch of ideas that made a 256 player game actually work.
