Recently some of my friends were discussing their tenure as MtG addicts the topic came up that green decks are cheesy and very popular.

I personally didn't play the game. I grew up in a rural community far from a comic shop and this was before you could order such things off the Internets.

I wonder... which color is the most popular? Obviously people play different decks or mix them (I think?) but you've got to have a favorite.
Gun to your head... you prefer?
Don't forget to tell us why. Feel free to mention a specific card, play style, or art what-have you.

Here's an excerpt from Wizards of the Coast's own website.

There are five colors of mana, and each comes from a different type of land:

*[a href=http://wizards.com/Magic/Multiverse/colors.aspx?color=white] White - Plains[/a]
*[a href=http://wizards.com/Magic/Multiverse/colors.aspx?color=blue] Blue - Islands[/a]
*[a href=http://wizards.com/Magic/Multiverse/colors.aspx?color=black] Black - Swamps[/a]
*[a href=http://wizards.com/Magic/Multiverse/colors.aspx?color=red]Red - Mountains[/a]
*[a href-http://wizards.com/Magic/Multiverse/colors.aspx?color=green]Green - Forests[/a]
Each color is driven by different values:
WHITE - Order, Protection, Light
BLUE - Knowledge, Manipulation, Illusion
BLACK - Darkness, Ambition, Death
RED - Freedom, Emotion, Impulse
GREEN- Growth, Instinct, Nature
Even though I didn't play I always thought Blue had the coolest looking cards.

Edit: Before anyone even starts, WotC is an American-English speaking company so Color is the way it's spelled. deal with it.

Blue.

Even if I lose, you are pissed as shit at me canceling you.

It's like I'm Fox, and I'm canceling Futurama and Firefly.

That is how pissed you will be.

Winning doesn't matter so much to me.

More often than not I find myself playing a mix of blue and white, my primary decks leaning towards blue.

Blue, I like saying "No."

I miss Cryptic Command.
I miss that card as well, heck I miss the whole Lorwyn block.

Blue is my favorite although I prefer Multi-colored decks. Mono blue is pretty boring to play imo. Holding out for the finisher or milling isn't my style.

Depends on where I'm playing. IRL, I use a white angel deck. Online, I use a green elf deck.

Green. I like the aspect of nature. But I also like lots of mana and scary monsters to crush things with.

Black would be second just because it's so evil at times.

I've never played (I'm poor, I have nobody to play it with, probaly other reasons too). But by the sounds of it I'd like blue (I'm assuming blue is basically a 'control' deck?) or green (by the sounds of it it seems to be one of those 'kill me if you want, I'll just keep coming back because I'm a persistent stubborn arse' decks, which sounds like my kind of play).

lmao, i just clicked "blue" and hit ok, and BAM! a whopping 58% picked that as well! I wonder if that just speaks to the kind of person who tends to frequent the escapist?

In any case i've always loved blue and the level of control and complex strategy it presents. That said, i can't for the life of me figure out how to make a good blue deck :(. But the favorite deck i have is a Red and Blue storm/suspend deck, it still needs some fine tuning (i think i need to focus more on storm and less on suspend)but i very much like what it can do.

My strongest deck though is green and focuses on capitalizeing on the spellwild ouphe not sure exactly how to add an image to this someone mind telling me how so i can fix it if i need to?.http://sales.starcitygames.com/cardscans/MAGFUT/spellwild_ouphe.jpg
Basically, loads of instants and enchantments giveing +attack/+defense and trample. The deck has killed in 5 turns too because of the incredible speed at which the ouphe allows me to unleash overwhelming power.

Its gotta be red, whenever something appears that pisses you off you blow the living crap out of it. Plus Goblins are always fun.

I've always played black, and with the new Mirrodin block, infect has made me a very happy player. Should have seen my Poison deck at the limited pre-release.

Then again I do enjoy blue occasionally. Control can be awesome fun.

Black, because it does wide-scale damage against non-black. Black v Black is a pain, but it's amusing being able to sit aside in a multiplayer skirmish and just have everything else die passively. Tends to be a risk-reward kind of deal though, not that I mind. Makes a victory feel more earned.

Blue is a pain to fight though. You blue-players know why!

My most successful deck was Blue/White, but I also had an experimental Green/Black deck that was kinda hit and miss (my mate challenged me by saying I couldn't make a deck using opposite colours).
