I like both but it seems that Female singers have slowly taken over the majority of my music thanks to Nightwish, Krypteria, and Epica.

(Epica likes to switch back and forth between death grunts and lead female singer...)

Female singers are easier on the eyes and the ears

Sorry guy but as I guy I have to say I hate male solo singers (and duos, you know who your are!)

Personally I prefer male singers, they're easier to relate to I guess. Also it's a break from pop which usually just has female singers while the 'men' rap/talk/pretend to rap.

Doesn't matter as long as I like the music. Most of the bands I listen to (Motörhead, Airbourne etc.) have male singers though.

It really depends on what I'm in the mood for. If I had to decide, I'd have to say female singers, simply because I like guys that sound like girls, but not girls that sound like guys. They terrify me.

I listen to metal so I prefer male singers because of harsh vocals in melodic death metal or operatic vocals in power metal.

Though I do enjoy female vocals a lot as well, especially in folk metal.

Mmm. Proper, skilled, singing is a very attractive skill - to watch someone making beautiful noises. So yeah, I prefer female vocalists.

I don't really have a preference. Most of the songs I listen to don't have vocals anyway.

It depends. Usually metal suits males better, but then Otep and Arch Enemy come along and prove that little stereotype completely wrong.

I'd question whether the sex of the singer has anything to do with the quality of the songs.
It's more a question of the content for me. But at a push, I'd say female singers for me.

Not really, as most extreme metal fans hate those two with a passion. Or so I'm told.

Edit: 'cause I fail at grammar.

I don't have a preference per se, but the majority of my music is sung by male vocalists. This is because I find it hard to find female vocalists who don't sound like cats screwing.

Exceptions include Evanescence, Imogen Heap.

Now that I think of it, I listen to very few female singers. Odd.

I prefer male singers but i like female singers though in most cases it does make the songs sound much more cheasier especially in rock (yeah Haley williams im looking at you) but you do get some badass female rock singers like maria brink from in this moment and Lacey Mosley from flyleaf. I also think that courtney love is pretty badass too (shields himself from rabid nirvana fans).
