Poll: Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer - LFM?

Hey Fellow Escapees,

Me and two other friends are trying to get back into silver and gold challenge modes for ME3 Multiplayer retail. We have a good group when the demo was out, but the guys we played with didn't buy the game (ikr?).

I'm specifically looking for one or even two players that are on nightly to come play with our group. But I figure there are a lot of players, or pairs of players, or trios missing that 4th player out there looking to complete a group and get some challenges down.

So, using this thread, feel free to leave your Origin ID, and we all can try to get together and team up! I have a 25 slot vent I've had for a while. I would be willing to expand it if this experiment works well, so it could become a place for the Escapist crew to find players for challenges.

Just got off of it. Jesus christ, fuck Reaper forces, and fuck the online community.
This'll probably only be temporary, but half of them seem content to join silver as a level 5 krogan, run in, get themselves killed, and ragequit near the end of the fucking wave, and because they're the host, it restarts. The other half sit right outside of the data gathering radius and start sniping as a Vanguard. REUASDGHLADBNIAWGYD

Bah. Anyway, I generally just try to adapt depending on my class. Assault rifles and pistols are good, some classes use a submachine gun. Shotguns seem kinda crappy in the MP though. Liking the Salarian engineer recently. Origin ID is same as username here, if anyone was curious. Maybe you should make a group for the multiplayer.

I have found the community to be fairly decent, although I tend to play bronze mostly now at least till I get a feel for the maps. The game is still fairly new, maybe some people just don't understand strategy yet.

I've been thinking of moving to silver or gold challenges since my infiltrator can one shot most enemies anyway may as well give them a better chance. plus almost every bronze game I've been in has turned into a 'run around throwing biotics because nothing can kill you' game.

I really like the infiltrator though, headshots or super satisfying and you can get quite a few kills off enemies while they are in cover.

Second, I meant like, an official Escapist group. On the "Recent Posts" tab on the front page, there's a bit that says "Groups". You can make an official group and message people and stuff.

Ya I agree with you. It has not been out long, and I think it's more that people don't know how big the jump from bronze to silver really is. It's a LOT... lol

Been doing silver runs now with limited success, my last experience was hilarious, a team full of asari gets wiped out by Geth, because everyone had light weapons and we couldnt kill the armored Geth Pyros.

It was tragically funny.

I doubt it. Most multiplayer games are not cross-platform.

No one had Warp that round? Keep your weight low and you can just spam it. I only carry a shotgun and I'm a Vanguard (level 20, though I just started playing yesterday after finishing the main game). So it's just chargenovachargenovacharge GOD DAMN TURRET.

Phantoms are much tamer than they were in the demo. The nerf bat hit them hard. Honestly I am still stuck playing Bronze since my friends have yet to beat the campaign (time restraints) so I am kind of dragging them along. We did a bunch of Gold in the demo so we'll get to that point eventually. I am just irked because I know we're probably going to end up totally bypassing Silver on the difficulty curve. We'll still play it when we don't want to have heart attacks barely surviving Wave 10 on Gold but by the time we do it won't be a challenge like it should XP

well the only guy with warp was carrying a Heavy Assault Rifle and an SMG, I was playing with an Asari Vanguard so I didnt have warp and most of the time I spent it spamming stasis and charging to lift up a fallen guy.

It was beautiful how awful we all failed, I would have switched to Sentinel but it was like 4 am and I needed to sleep a bit before going to work.

Its not that phantoms got nerfed, its that they arent as much a thread as the rest of the shit you have to fight now, the number nightmare in any game has to be Banshees, freaking bitches have Barrier, Charge, Warp and to top it all off armor, which makes them bullet spoonges.

Yeah, I went on a media blackout for ME3 once the demo hit (not playing the demo, not coming to this site except for the two Let's Plays I follow), and I wasn't reading ME3 threads before then. So I didn't know how to attack Phantoms. But you don't charge them, I learned that quickly. That was a bummer. I even charge Atlases with full shields. Just charge, shotgun, charge, shotgun. Imagine how annoying that would be to fight....

I think you can cause a Biotic explosion if you charge Banshees while they are charging. Though they can insta-kill you as well. So Warp or Shockwave are probably better. It's weird fighting without Liara to set up enemies for me.

oh you can charge them, its a 1 out of 10 chance youll get instakilled by them if you do, but only on silver, most of the time, Charge > Heavy Melee > Nova will take out anything.

I dont know they still do the bullet shield sometimes, but the amount of new guns just fucks them completely, I just dont see the difference between the demo and now, cause Phantoms were never much an issue in bronze or silver. In Gold however i do remember them being able to Ignore even your powers if you spammed them enough times without killing them.
