After some perusing of the ME3 website, it appears that ME3 will be using Origin on the PC version, so for those who were/are planning to get ME3 will this affect your decision?

If it does appear to, then yes I won't be getting it.

Well, I'm going to avoid Origin any way I can, but if it's an absolute requirement for this game, I'll have to bend over to pick up the soap and buy it regardless. I am definitely NOT passing up Mass Effect 3.

I already use Origin for DA:O, DA2 and ME1&2 and also my preorder for SWTOR has popped up on there too. Not sure if you need Origin for SWTOR but anyway. So ... yeah I don't really care that much. ME3 is gonna be awesome, I'd probably sell EA my soul to play it. Hell they probably already own it since I gave it to Bioware long ago.

I also use Steam for most of my games and Comrade for games I bought on Direct2Drive. Don't really see what the big deal is. They're all the same thing. Yeah, it would be nice if everything could be in one place but life doesn't always give you what you want.

Also apparently;

[HEADING=1]READ THIS! THE EULA CHANGED MONTHS AGO![/HEADING]
[sup]Back in August, in fact. Pay attention.[/sup]

Click here. [http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/battlefield-3/news/6331203/ea-changes-origin-eula]

According to the current agreement, "EA would never sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor would it ever use spyware or install spyware on users' machines. We and agents acting on our behalf do not share information that personally identifies you without your consent, except in rare instances where disclosure is required by law or to enforce EA's legal rights."

While the wording on collecting information about a user's computer, operating system, software, and software usage remains mostly intact, another clause from the agreement no longer appears. That now-omitted line originally stated, "EA may also use this information combined with personal information for marketing purposes and to improve our products and services. We may also share that data with our third party service providers in a form that does not personally identify you." In fact, the new EULA makes no mention of marketing at all.

The third section in the EULA, "Application communications and conduct/privacy settings," has also changed considerably. It no longer includes wording that "EA reserves the right to monitor communications on the Application and disclose any information EA deems necessary," nor does it specify that if users don't agree to EA's collection, they shouldn't install the application.
THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM ANY MORE.

This Eula is now no more invasive or threatening than Steam's, or any other programs'.

Perhaps you should paste all the above information in the OP to ensure that everyone voting is fully informed rather than reacting to outdated sensationalism. Also, fix your poll to remove the bias.

There are more then enough ways in which you can isolate Origin from your files, So I'm still going to get it.

Edit it before the mods hunt your ass down.

I've played the other Mass Effect games on xbox, so that's where I'll play ME3. Origin can suck it.

Right now I'm leaning more towards not getting it, the Mass Effect series is pretty decent but I'm still not comfortable to use origin.

Given they updated the EULA to be no more "threatening" than any other EULA I've signed, I have no objections to Origin. Mass Effect 3 is still a day one purchase for me.

Bugger.

Ah well. I already installed Origin for the BF3 beta. I don't have any violent objections to using it for ME3.

Besides, it's ME3. No amount of EA shenanigans is going to stop me from getting my hands on it.

Well apart from the biased point of view that's given in the poll, I will download origin for Mass Effect 3, but I will be waiting for a drop in price first, as I don't find the game nearly as good since they have watered down the RPG in favor of mediocre cover shooting.

I'll get it. Then I'll uninstall Origin, crack the game that I legally purchased and play like A BOSS. I'm not interested in co-op, and it's been confirmed that co-op mode can be played solo, but it will be hard. Well, if I want to play the Galaxy at War mode, I will have more fun playing it solo because I am a single player gamer and I enjoy a challenge.

Since my character save is on Xbox, that's where I'll be getting so the Origin thing doesn't really affect me.

I'll buy it at half price or sell it back for half on ebay, the game is going in all the directions I don't want it too but I do want to see the conclusion.

As for Origin... well there is always someone out there that patches developers horseshittery.

Nope as I'll be playing it on xBox and that's where my main Sheperd lives.

Here's the stupidest thing:
Since it is illegal to track/datamine a PC on the level that Origins does in my country (Netherlands) but still legally oké to download pirated software for personal use.

I would be more in the right if i pirated it, accordingly to my countries laws then to actually buy it. Also taking into account that a cracked version wont have DRM and datamining in it....

All i know is that EA wont get a dime from me if they want my personal data that bad, THEY should pay ME for that service or give the game away for free as an honest trade of data.

What a totally un-biased poll that observes all of the main opinions all can have fairly.

Past the idiot poll, Xbox for me, that is where all six of my saves are.
