I'm doing a school project that allows me to ask, What brand microwave does the escapist like best? Feel free to share stories of oddities with your microwavable snacks.
Edit: Also if you don't like your current microwave let us know which kind you do.

Microwaves have brands?! I just liked the ones that spin my meals around while they are working their voodoo magic, gives me something to watch. I want to say it's a GE I've got at home but I honestly can't remember... It's certainly done it's job so far and I like it. I'll edit once I can confirm.

EDIT: Looks like it's from Hundson's Bay (I had to hunt down the warrenty because it wasn't in the manual or even on the microwave anywhere). It's a beast and is actually made out of more metal then plastic, which means it's win no matter how I look at it.

I dont know.

We have had the same microwave for 16 years and it has never broken.

And its brand marking has worn away too.

My roommate has this monolith Panasonic that I use. Just made bacon in it. I don't microwave often, usually whatever comes out of it tastes horrible.

EDIT: Dah, I voted other, didn't see Panasonic was an option.

i have a Daewoo, works fine. i also have a fun microwave story to tell.

back when i was very young, maybe 3 years or so old, a friend of my parents had just bought a microwave. it was 1991 or 1992 or so, so microwaves were a freaking rarity, especially here in eastern europe. the stunning new technology of tomorrow. sooo anyway, this guy had cooked some eggs for his children for breakfast. (everyone who has ever played Zack McCracken knows where this is going). but they were whining that the eggs were not hot anymore! no problem says he, and puts the 4 eggs in the microwave.

the blast actually unhinged the microwave door and made it fall down from the kitchen counter, and the whole room was dusted with about a quarter inch of fine white powderlike egg-snow.

fun times with microwaves^^

I don't know, I found it in my attic and fixed it and now it makes me hot pockets. I know its huge, old, and makes things hot... thats about it.

Are you asking what brand do we use, or what brand we prefer?

I use a Sharp, but I don't have a particular preference for that brand of Microwave, it's just the one I bought at the time and it still works.

It's OK, it does it's job adequately and has a nice "ping" when it's done, but I wouldn't recommend or not recommend it to anyone.

I think you'd have serious domestic beast to actually develop a brand preference for Microwaves, those things last for ages and are pretty much the same (I've never had a Microwave that's broken, they've always still worked even when we've thrown them out because they're too grubby).

How many Microwaves could one person conceivably get through in their lifetime? I can ever imagine using enough different brands to ever develop a preference... someone may develop brand loyalty to a manufacturer of Microwaves because of their other products, like if someone had a good Samsung TV they may also buy a Samsung Microwave, but I doubt anyone could develop a preference solely for Microwaves through normal, everyday domestic use.

I have a TESCO brand microwave, that's the actual brand, I laugh in the face of your safe, well respected electrical equipment! We use it quite a bit, and are always forgetting to take the cutlery out of our bowls, so a few seconds in it starts zapping blue light like a flux capacitator. Fun times.

I haven't had one in my place of residence for some years now. I don't really notice it's absence. They seem kind of weird to me now.

I don't have a preferred brand. Just whatever comes cheapest that has what I want in a microwave.

Sharp.

It was large and cheap. Just what I needed right after the divorce. The one I was using up to that point was a panasonic.
