I'm quite alone. I don't have access to my precious external hard drive & am without a sufficient waste of time...
Google failed to turn up any interesting Chat rooms but I know of the two things I mentioned many seem to adore them both. I know nothing about either, & will more or less be heading in the direction suggested.
Why? Because Minecraft loves you, Homestuck wants you dead. besides the new version of Minecraft came out yesterday, go find yourself some kitties and make an Iron golem army! :3
EDIT: Ok since you say you know nothing about either, let me win you over here. Minecraft is a game where your dropped in a randomly generated world thats the size of Neptune (Not even kidding :3) and the objective in Minecraft is to survive, craft, create and eventually beat the dragon!
There is officially no shame in using the Wiki for this game. And as I said, there are kitties in it now! :3 or Wolves if you want them instead.

Minecraft is a very enjoyable game, its cheap, and new content keeps coming out... Just get it. Its worth taking a $15 gamble.
And Homestuck is this:
Homestuck is a multimedia fantasy webcomic about four kids who play a game that turns out to spark the end of one universe, and give birth to the next. The game/abiogenesis-of-the-universe-exodus, Sburb, follows gamelike patterns. (Each kid has a guardian who raised them, they each have their own planet, denizens and unique power and title if they get to a high enough level, etc)
Its very weird, though; it has some pretty nifty bad guys and a neat fantasy setup, but one of the kids is raised by an omnipotent dog, Betty Crocker is a major antagonist, Lovecraftian horrors speak to one of the kids through an 80's-multicolored-animals-who-like-friendship show called the "Squiddles," etc.
Here's part one of homestuck, read aloud by some fans.
It gets more interesting later, but if the first act utterly repulses you, I doubt you'd like Homestuck as a whole. If this does spark your interests, I'd suggest reading it by yourself, so you get the whole multimedia experience (like when it becomes a point-and-click adventure, and such)
Also, as a warning, Homestuck is fun, but some parts of the fandom is a lot like Bronies, but with less of a persecution complex, so expect them to be a bit happy-intense. The "OMG I LUFFS THE TROLLS" in particular.
General MSPA fans are usually pretty chill, though. Don't let a few superfans put you off; there's some pretty neat original stories going on in the Forum Adventure sections of the MSPA forums.

Wait, what are you comparing? The two are in completely different categories, one is a video game, and the other is a web comic. I guess Homestuck because I love it that much (yes, I have played Minecraft too).
Depends on your tastes. If you're a creative person who likes to tinker and explore his options, go with Minecraft. If you're a individual who enjoys reading and is looking for a very unique and creative story, go Homestuck.
