Trying to blame it on a telivision show is silly, but not television in general. How many kids shows are there that reinforce the message that everyone is a wonderful unique individual? How many Disney-esque films have hammered the idea into our heads that if we just dream it or wish upon a star, we can do anything? This is how reality shows like X-Factor make their money; people these days would rather be famous than great. Ask a classroom full of kids whether they'd rather win a Nobel prize or an Oscar, and the results will probably be depressing as fuck.ShadowKatt said:But not entirely. That doesn't mean that there isn't a problem though. It just stems from something else.
I'm not entirely sure of what you're trying to say. They're not special because of the circumstances they live in?Hopeless Bastard said:Anyone who thinks human life is special needs to spend a few years in a third world country.TylerC said:"You're special if you work hard."
No, I'm pretty sure the miracle of someone giving birth to you, and being a person makes you special.

While I know that this thread is going to degenerate fast into nothing but a rip on Fox News, which happens whenever the news network is mentioned, I'll come out and say it right now.
They're wrong.
