I play the bass guitar. My freind doesnt play anything. We started to play World Tour and i was kinda shocked that they made the bass easier than the guitar when in real life (arguably) they require the same amount of skill. Not to mention the subtle passive agressive things in the game that made the bass seem unimportant. Like lack of bass related achievements ect.

Just wanted a couple of opinions.

Also im not here to debate which instrument is better or more difficult. PLease do not get off topic.

I'm a guitarist by trade and hobby, love the instrument. Passed classical grade 8 a few years back, Rockschool grade 8 last year, and currently working on higher tier qualifications. I do like Guitar Hero as a game, though I'm not very good at it :) need to put more time into it. I would say I have an advantage over most new comers, but it's just not how a guitar is played :)

If this was Pizzicato Obscure Chinese Violin Hero or something, it'd be spot on.

Though it is useful to build the muscles in your fingers if you're an aspiring guitarist, or any hammered instrument for that matter.

I despise rockband drums, it is almost insulting as a drummer to play that game, the layout is aweful, there is no oomf when you hit the pad, nor is there any spring back, there is no high hat, the bass drum was designed poorly and there is no snare either....

I see no difference at all. Kidding.

I play guitar in real life and I think that Guitar Hero did it better.

Been playing guitar for about 8 years now. I found the first Guitar Hero to be done very, very well. It felt pretty right. Guitar Hero 2 felt slightly off... random notes thrown in that didn't make sense.

Since then I've played drums and bass. I can also sing pretty decently. I feel Rock Band has done a much better job, as a whole, on these things than Guitar Hero World Tour has. The only thing that both suck royally at are vocals. That is some truly horribly done stuff.

However, I don't like how GH:WT has done to guitar at all.

My biggest gripe with these games is the lack of an open note. This would make songs, like Joker and the Thief, enjoyable and approachable. The intro lick in that song is incredibly easy to play on guitar, yet, they've somehow made it twenty times more difficult than it is because there lacks an open note.

Just a bar across would be fine, like how the drums are done. Otherwise it'd be fine.
