I remember learning about a comic book a few weeks ago where a guy takes a drug that completely eliminates his need to sleep with no side effects.
I started thinking, keep in mind I'm a college student, that would be so cool. We spend 25 percent of our lives asleep. It would add years to our lives! We could accomplish everything we always wanted to in less time.
I would take this drug. Would you? Feel free to elaborate.

Hm...intriguing. On one hand, I never waste time sleeping. On the other, sleeping is my favorite activity :(

I'd love to know how my mind would deal with not having the time to re-process everything it does while I'm asleep, but I'd definitely try the pill :D

He who maketh said pill can hand them to me for clinical trials.

Yes, yes I would, and by night, I would work another job, make twice the income, and become a rich bastard!

Yes, assuming no ill side effects. I sometimes feel sleeping is somehow a waste of time, anyway.

Would the comic book have been Warren Ellis's Desolation Jones perchance?
Nah. It's called REST. I haven't read it but I know that the guy that plays Peter on Heroes is involved with it.

If you are right, you may have too much time on your hands.

I wasn't right, make of that what you will, although I don't think that a comic fan knowing about comics is really that unusual.

I looked up Desolation Jones on Wikipedia a few seconds ago and it sounds cool. I'll have to check it out.

Don't worry I was just kidding. Besides knowing about comics is pretty unusual in suffolk, but if you want to know about farming and tractors.

Yeah I'd do it, and spend my nights fighting crime... or working a different job to make more munnies.

You're telling me that a drug that eliminates any need to sleep, ever, has no side effects? I'd never trust it. Especially since this sounds like the kind of stuff where the side-effects show up in your brain. My body is just my body, but my brain is ME. I don't fuck with it.

I would not do this because then, school would be longer. You'd work more hours because all your employers would expect you to have taken the drug. It would suck, you'd be so overworked!

Would you still feel tired?
I don't know for sure, but I figured that if you ran a marathon or something you would be exhausted of course, but you would get over it like you do naturally and you wouldn't need to sleep. Keep in mind, no side effects.
