A lot of people in Australia think this is a waste of tax payer money, I personally don't care seeing I don't pay tax. Anyway I wanted to see what my fellow 'scapists thought.

Are these ads actually played on air? Weird... We don't have them over the west coast. "Don't be a dickhead..." ahh, only in Australia.

This is the best of them, and it scares me about talking on the phone while driving.

Awesome, most definitely. I don't feel that I can properly judge whether or not it's a waste of money without some hard statistics (How much this cost), but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that it was a net gain for the community, and that I wish we had commercials like that in the states.

It cost around $100,000 to make.

I think it's funny. Why do Victoria and WA get all the cool government ads? It's not fair.

I like it when they're direct about it.
And that was fucking awesome. Although I'd love to see a Jazz pirate.

Well despite the fact that I live in NSW and haven't seen these aired on telly yet I'm fine with them, it's nice to see a bit of good humour coming from the government.

I find this one curiously arousing.
...you concern me.

OT: these adverts do seem a little bullshitty... it doesn't put across a point, it just says that something odd will hapen its not... that won't stop people using the phone while driving... the threat of a £200 fine, now thats a different question all together.

I guess that why some people are so pissed off about this, but we have had shock ads before and that generated hate as well *sigh*
