Poll: New Design Question: Your Opinions, Please!

So some folks were commenting that the front page was a wee bit confusing as a result of the redesign - they were having trouble visually keeping the stories separate. So we made a small tweak today by adding a bit of color that should, in theory, make the delineations between stories more clearly.

Well, what do you think? Better? Worse? No difference at all?

I think its improved its newer and will just take a little bit of time to get used too.
Change can be a good thing and in this case i think it was.

It does look a bit better, but the news (those with blue background ATM) should be moved to the far left, while the blue background stays at the same place

I much preferred the use of a blue background for the text, saving white for the actual post column. In terms of graphic design this is saying that the blue things are official (and part of the authority of The Escapist), but the white stuff are its users. Over use of white just makes the underlying semantics ambiguous. Please change it back.

Well I personally like the new design. It's all shiny and vibrant. A definite improvement in my opinion.

The new design is perfect, everything seems more easily accessible than before.

I have to say the problem for me was never an issue of separation. I thought when I first saw it that the right would feature reviews, and the bottom left, columns. But then the right would feature videos and the bottom left would feature articles from this week's issue. It's very confusing, but perhaps all I need is an explanation.

Also, as long as the topic is at hand. I suggest changing the wording of the Unforgotten Realms bar on the front page. Considering it comes out on Thursday, "This week" seems off more than half the week. I mean, I see the argument already: that Thursday to Thursday could be considered "This week" for UR, but it still looks odd.

I haven't had trouble with it but I can see how others would, I think it could use a little bit more colour. More blue, I like blue.

Havent really noticed anything different never payed much attention to the top of the site anyway.

Good call on the color blocks: the subtlely increased contrast helps to visually distinguish groupings.

Overall, I have to say I like the new design, although for some reason it runs like complete ass on my browser. I think the problem is on my end tho.

New design certainly looks nicer, but I'm a little confused where to find everything. However, that's probably because I get confused by change... Give me a few weeks and I'll be fine =)

It takes longer to load on my crappy computer, and I couldn't find how to get onto the forums until I realised they were exactly in the same place. I'm a douche.

i like the new design, never really saw the front page yesterday but it still seems pretty easy to read

tho i do like the new redesign
