Microsoft revealed the new Xbox 360 with a 250 gig harddrive and the fastest wifi in an xbox ever. My question to the escapist public is will you get it. IS it worth it?

I will not get it, because I already own a 360. I do not feel the need for owning two of them.

It sounds good, any console that reduces the chances of hardware fail is good in my book, but i won't buy it cos i see no reason too.

I'm not sure, I've had my xbox just over a year so the warranty has gone but it's still in good condition. However depending on how much i'd be able to trade it in for (and prolly many of my games as well), it could be worth considering getting it for a more reliable build.

Edit: Actually would I even be able to trade this one in now?

I already have a new Elite (had it for like two months) so it's not likely that I'll get the new one, if anyone is planning to get it they should wait so see if there's any problems with it...

Nope. I'm happy with 360 Elite.

I don't need wifi, my house is small enough to run cables between rooms and floors.
I don't need a 250GB HDD, 120GB is plenty thanks.
I don't need all the extra ventillation stuff because I'm not stupid enough to put it in an airless corner covered in pillows.

Inevitably. I play my 360's into the ground. I have one teetering on the brink of death right now. Back to back RDR and Alan Wake is not making the little trooper happy. It's my halo 360 and has lasted the longest of all four of my 360s.

Then I'll get the new one mostly because it will be the same price as the others. So yeah, why not? But until then I hope my 360 lasts until September. I have to save up my discretionary game fund to replace it.

Bit of a Nintendo move to me, repackaging something old as newer and shiner with a few addons, to really make it worth while.

Plus I love my PS3 oh so much, so I couldn't possibly cheat on it with another platform!

You must really love 360's to forking out for them and putting up with them going belly up.

I don't think anything else would get away with it.

This, plus it just came out so there may be tons of bugs we don't know about.

Not right now, but when I get paid I will be, then I'll give my old one to my nephew. Hmm, being greedy with the illusion of being generous, it's a weird feeling.

I'm seriously considering it. My current Elite is pretty noisy and gets very hot, very quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if it's on the verge of a second RROD. Also, I need more hard drive space 'cos I'm a bit fanatical about installing games to the hard drive, as well as future plastic guitar DLC. So yeah, the new one sounds like a reasonable investment.

My current Xbox is outside warranty, so if it craps out, I'll most likely get its much sexier, younger cousin. Wait... what?

Of course you can. Here is a list of the trade in value going towards the purchase of the new model. http://kotaku.com/5567148/how-to-trade+up-to-the-new-xbox-360-for-90
Oh great, I looked a bit more and found some numbers in £ for the UK. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/39620/Xbox-Slim-trade-in-offers-announced

So it looks like I'd get £80 for my 60gb xbox and would need £120 more.. hmm doesn't sound very worth it. Trading in the wireless adapter and all my games might not quite cover it.

Yes. It costs the same as a normal 360. I may buy one and get a HDD transfere kit, move my game saves to the new one and sell the old.

Haha no. It's what the fat ps3 did just over 3 years ago. You can get one of them for way cheaper.
