Just curious.

With all the bruhaha about ratings and suitability, how many people will ignore the rating and get it anyway?

I just turned 17 a couple of months ago, so I can legally buy it in NYC. I used to get M-rated games at a... well, let's call it a "3rd party retailer."

I'm 18, but I'm waiting for the Game of the Year Edition for Modern Warfare 2 anyways - I'm getting Assassin's Creed 2 instead this christmas (which, coincidentally, also has an 18+ rating)

I'm 25, but I'm not getting right away.
I'm getting Dragon Age on Tuesday, and that will take up all my time for a long time.
But I'll ask for it for Christmas!

I turned 18 a few weeks ago. Been enjoying the freedoms of adulthood by buying lots of beer, dirty movies and hyper violent games.

But yes, I am old enough to buy MW2. Not sure I will though. Might get it for Christmas...maybe...

I'm only a year off, but I've been playing M-rated games since I was 10 years old. I'm pretty confident that I'm mature enough to not go try and become a terrorist after this game.

I don't know about other countries, but here there isn't actually any law that says how old you have to be to buy a video-game. There certainly isn't any law against playing them (or else we wouldn't have to deal with all those brats on XBL, would we?) under the advisement age. However, every major retailer has a policy against selling M rated games to someone under 17, so it might as well be law.

I'm 16, but I look about 18, and could easily buy it straight away if I wanted.

Wasn't planning to get it till at least after Christmas, but turns out my sister's preordering it for me for my 17th birthday, which is conveniantly the day after when it comes out.

I live here in Sweden, our ratings are just recommendations.
On the other hand, maybe I won't buy MW2 at all now that they've removed the support for dedicated servers.

Either way, go non-stupidity! Even though we have way too many stupid laws here in Sweden, too.

Why don't you tell me when the prepubescent start whining on the headsets? ;)
Easy, roughly 5 seconds after the start of the very first multiplayer TDM when one of the opposing side snaps a perfect headshot off from the other side of the map.
