Just curious more than anything, what is the escapists opinion on 4Chans /b/? Also known as the asshole of the internet?

There seems to be a very harsh polarizing opinion on it, those who like it REALLY like it and those who don't like it think its utter shit.

What do you think?

I think it's an alright place I guess, you need to have a dark sense of humor and possibly a bit emotionally fucked up to enjoy it but if you can avoid the gore and CP threads its alright

/b/ is so tame compared to what it used to be. Granted the threads are still the same 80% porn, 10% furry, 5% gore, 4% pawnstar battletoads and 1% funny OC. But the community itself is not as brutal as it used to be. 'summerfags' is a real thing there and the new wave meme surge did nothing for the site but flood it with unfunny schmucks and people who troll the site trying to provoke them but when all the other users are 14 year olds into rage comics there isn't much backlash against anyone nowadays.

I did enjoy /b/ back in the day and frequented it everyday but now maybe once a week just to see if anything crazy is going down for lulz.

Occasionally something funny comes out of it but really I don't feel like sifting through human garbage to get a cheap laugh here and there. If people like that stuff they can do what they want but some of it is down right disgusting and I am extremely open minded person.

It's a solid time-killer. I go when I'm bored or need a laugh. I contriboot when i have to, but I mostly just lurk. Nothing srs happens on /b/, it's just for anonymously laughing at the expense of others.

Lots of "Edgy" jokes just for the sake of being edgy. Most of them have bad punchlines anyway.
I like the other boards better since I enjoy talking about their topics and I find jokes that revolve around those topics to be funnier than random jokes.
Now if only one of those boards could stay on topic.

I like reading some of the more funny green text stories from time to time, but otherwise my experiences have been... middling.

I went there once. I believe the picture of what I saw is referred to as a "Hot Pocket". I am never going back again. That being said if people enjoy it let it stay where it is.

Some stuff on it is funny, but basically it's just a massive pit of self hate, racism, sexism, so on and so forth. There's just so much shit on it anymore. A lot of the people on there seem to have no redeemable value. And after browsing it for a while it's just the same shit over and over again, it's repetitive and boring. Sometimes you find a gem, but you have to keep looking under the same shit you saw yesterday and the day before and so on.

None of these. Well sort of. It's not alright, however it's not shit either. If I had to guess it'd be maybe 20% alright and 80% shit. I still go there from time to time it just takes a while to find something interesting.

I've seem some people on it. Doesn't really seem like a good way to spend time.

Mostly porn and people complaining of no new content then complaining and callng OP a fag when new content is posted. How does that work?

Rules 1 & 2 for sure.

But yeah i find the place... almost refreshing i think you would struggle to find a better example of the best and worst that humanity can offer by some of the acts perpetrated there. You will find the very darkest and sickest parts of what makes us human, then, every so often you will find something truly heart warming and humbling that happens.

Most days however it's just filled with filth.

BTW if you go looking for /b/ IT IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
