Are they kids' Movies?
I think a lot of people often associate animated movies that are rated G or PG with children.
Edit: I agree that Pixar movies are movies for everyone. I do not like it when people instantly assume that movies that are kid-friendly are childish to watch. Admittedly this is sometimes the case, but a good film for children should be enjoyable for anyone if it is really a good film.

EDIT II: I want to make it perfectly clear that I love Pixar movies. I do not think they are only for children.

No, I like a lot of Pixar movies; Monsters Inc., Up, Wall-e. A lot of them are fun for children, teens, and adults.

Nah, they are the kind of movies that have aspects that appeal to everyone. The Incredibles and Monsters Inc are two of my fave movies

They are films primarily geared towards children, but still appealing to teens and adults.

I've come up with a name for those types of films. I call them "family films", what do you think?

I don't think he goes far enough with this. It's not just that they make the best animated films on the market - it's that they're incapable of producing anything that's even remotely bad. Exposure Therapy is the only reason I've ever seen anyone have an overall dislike for a Pixar film (e.g. me - I can no longer enjoy Finding Nemo, because I was forced to watch it with my sister twice a day for almost two weeks on one of our road trips).

This = truth

I'm sure it'll be even more apparent that they're not just kid movies when the audience at Toy Story 3 will be full of 15-20something year olds.

Like Yahtzee said there's a difference between Kid Friendly and Kiddy.

The former is something everyone can enjoy, the latter is something that makes most people want to tear out their brains and eat them. Thankfully Pixar falls in the former category.

I can't believe they open with so much happiness, and then when you're not even guessing for it BAM super sadness.

While Pixar may target a younger audience, they also make sure they can get the older crowd as well. Frankly, Pixar makes great movies that I see no matter what. Fun for the family as well.

I'm usually not that harsh, but FUCK NO. For the umpteenth time, "Fun for the whole family" does not equal "Kiddy". Or, to be even more precise, growing up does not mean you should be bored when kids have fun - quite opposite, in fact.
