Pokemon X and Y chromosome edition is coming out soon and the new starter pokemon are the only ones on show right now. Which one will you lot pick? I don't know about you guys but Chespin looks a little off... He looks like a Happy tree friend crossed with a marijuana plant.

At the moment I like the Morzilla firefox Fennekin, the only other fire starter I have ever had has been Charizard so I thought it would be a nice change. Although it would be a good idea to wait and see if it turns out to be a four legged Ninetails clone, it having four legs would be ok but at the moment it looks like the missing link in the vulpix evolution.
Fennekin > Vulpix > Ninetails

Thoughts?
I miss the Gen 1 and 3 pokemon
The new pokemon look pretty crummy in my opinion, they just seem... off.

I'll probably be going with Froakie if he turns out to be Water/Fighting or Water/Dark. If he's not, then I guess I'll pick the one with the best looking final form.

Probably Froakie, I like all the designs but for some reason his just appeals a bit more. I might end up getting both, so I'll end up using all three at some point.

Hmm. Well I did start with Snivy last gen, so I'll probably pick either Fennekin or Froakie.

What's wrong with Gen 2's Pokemon? Just curious. :p

Nothing at all, I just more fond of Gen 1 and 3
The former for being the originals, the ones that started this all. The latter because pokemon emerald was my first game, you could say that they were my generation.

Heh. I see.

Oddly enough, I kinda skipped over Gen. 2 despite loving the original generation so much. :/

I did have the guide though.

Of the three I like Fennekin the best but I'll have to see what they evolve into first. If Fennekin evolves into another fire/fighting type imma be pissed.

I always choose the Fire-type starter on my first time playing through a new Pokemon Gen (with the exception of Gen 5, of course).

I am actually more interested in learning about the other roster of available Pokemon, as well as the types of the titular Legendary Pokemon so that I can create a party that will allow me to utilize both the starter and the Legendary Pokemon. In any case, I like the Fire starter and hope that its evolution and final form look cool.

That frog is so ugly.

SO UGLY.

And the grass starter just looks silly.

So if I were to get these games (I don't even have a 3DS, so the chances are pretty slim right now), I'd probably pick Firefox. Dunno what's with all the hate for kitsunes, though, there's only the two in the entire franchise of over six hundred monsters now, and those two were from the very first Generation, and had an absolutely terrible move-set.

Also, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought of chromosomes when I saw "Pokemon X and Pokemon Y".

I always go with fire, so Fennekin (I also found some pretty hot fan art)
But frogs were my favorite animal growing up, so I'm torn with Froakie

If I remember my past starters selection (I tend to not pick the same type from the last game and keep it even out of the starter types I've used) I think that would be Froakie.
Granted that is out of initial first form apperance only so my opinion may change once I have seen their evolved form and even then I have to consider its move and stats (Serperior look cool but overall is an awful Pokemon to used).

Let me doublecheck out of the past types I have used-

Red- Bulbasaur (Grass)
Gold- Cyndaquil (Fire)
Ruby- Mudkip (Water)
Fire Red- Squirtle (Water)
Diamond- Chincharr (Fire)
Platinum- Turtwig (Grass)
White- Snivy (Grass)
Black- Ossawott (Water)

Mmmm it look like I messed it up with the latest games (I did regret picking Snivy at the end) and if I want to keep the types I've used evenly, I should picked Fennekin so maybe I'm counting on Froakie final form to be unappealing.

I like Fennekin the most, although I will most likely get them all at the start by trading with a few friends here!

I hope we get something other than a fire/fighting type, although it doesn't look like it's gonna be one.
Yeah I reckon it will be a pure fire type, I cant see them adding any other types to it (although I think a fire/psychic would be the best thing since sliced bread). A fourth in a row fire/fighting is highly unlikely right? because they have Lucario as the fighting dog pokemon, but a fire/psychic dog would be an awesome counterpart.

Unrelated: I just started watching Fairy Tail and I finally found out who your avatar is! Happy the Cat! he's great sorry I just really needed to tell you that.

I think its Froakie's bulbous eyes.

It has also occurred to me that the third game in this gen may be Pokemon Z! genius observation I know. However this may mess up the chromosome gag.

I always end up picking the water types, so I'm eyeing Froakie right now, unless the evolutions of Fennekin and Chespin look really promising.

Plus this made me chuckle:

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm going with Fennekin.

That being said, last generation I was going to go with Tepig until I saw Emboar. Needless to say I picked Oshawott (Whatever it was called).

Victini [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Victini_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29] says hi.

Although I do like multi-typed starters. You know what would be real cool? A fire/water, water/grass, and grass/fire set of starters. Hell, Fire/water would be great for weather teams and a grass/fire mon could take advantage of Chlorophyll.
