Okay, so 2 years ago, I first heard about Starcraft 2 coming out. Naturally, I pre-ordered a copy of it, gleefully waiting for Blizzard to release it. I waited for about a year, then canceled my order for store credit. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to buy the game when it comes out, but I would still like to see it released at some point within my lifetime. And while I would rather that they take a bit longer to deliver a better game than to rush it to fit some unrealistic schedule. So, I was just wondering what you guys thought.

When it's ready. From how it looks, it's going to be awesome. It also looks like they've been finalizing things quite a bit more, just look at the site to see all of the units they have confirmed to be in there. Then you have all the cinematics that have been previously released to suggest that they have the campaign almost complete (unless we have a team creating cinematics for the hell of trailers alone).

It's in Beta man. They just have to watch S. Koreans number grind for a couple of months, make sure it isn't wickedly unbalanced, and then it launches.

I really wish I knew. I first heard about this a couple years ago, and, being a big fan of the first StarCraft, I immediatly pre-ordered it. That was when it was scheduled for like September 2008 or something. Then it went to December, then this June, and now it's scheduled for November. But I won't be surprised if it changes again.

ook look. the game is done. the weapons are in. the graphics are finished. the units shoot things. the dialog is recorded.

Starcraft does not still have a loyal gaming fanbase (AND A TELEVISION CHANNEL IN KOREA) because it has protoss, zerg, and terrans. No, it has a 10 year + fan base as its balance defines the RTS genre and makes it a game of games.

Dawn of war, C&C, and all the rest of the contenders to the throne of best RTS ever pale in comparison-- not because of flashy graffixxorz or morphable units, but because of balance. Starcraft 2 by all estimations will continue this tradition of very high quality.

Right now, people are playing against eachother and trying to exploit every unit in every way they can imagine to balance the game and make it ready for online competitive gaming.
And still people will *****,

OMG BLIZ FIX ZERG OMG BLIZZ FIX PROTOSS OMG BLIZZ FIX TERRRRRRRRRRANS TERRANS R TERRRIBLE ZERG R FOR PHAGGZ PROTOSS R OVERPOWERZZZ BUILD MOAR PYLONZ
and i will strike them with my fist of the internets +7

Splinter Cell: Conviction
Half-Life 2: Episode 3
Duke Nu?oh, wait... Never mind that one.

These are all going to be, or would have been awesome, and if I really cared about Starcraft 2, I would probably say the same thing of it.

I'd be mad if they released it before it was done. That's why I trust Blizzard more than any other company. They have never released a bad game and as long as they stick to their philosaphy they never will.

Anyone who doesn't expect this from blizzard really needs to brush up on their history.

Actually, it's not coming at all. Take Two shut down 3-D Realms because it was taking so long. What makes me laugh the most is that they had gameplay on PS2, but by the time they had it running, it was too late, and they had to move onto the next generation.

Thats a matter of opinion.
I like DoW way more then SC. C&C wasnt too good for me but that doesnt make it any less of a game.

You best watch what you say more carefully or you'll wake up next week in a tub full of ice in the middle of mexico missing both your kiddnies.

No. He means that, to the nation of South Korea, particularly in Seoul, Starcraft is better than sex or football. They have entire stadiums devoted to the game; Starcraft essentially is their national sport.
