Poll: Portable Nuke Launcher or M16?

However, you accidentally wandered into a weapons research lab while massively stoned from a mixture of aspirin and Jack Daniels! Yay! Now, you can either take the prototype nuke launcher off the table, or take the dead guard's assault rifle. There are 40 mininukes. There are 800 bullets. Remember, you can only use one to get out of the city...

The nuke launcher, hands down.
Impracticality is of no concern to me, I will have a damn NUKE LAUNCHER.
That would overwrite any worries I could have.

m-16 get's my vote the nuke launcher is awesome but if i'm inside I won't be able to use it without blowing my self up.

The M-16. Anything firing any sort of "nuclear weapon" in the purest sense cannot be used in close defense proceedures. Nuclear weapons are weapons of last resort in any scenario and even tiny ones will annihilate signifcant portions of a city environment. By contrast, while hardly idea for close defense the M-16 at least offers a probability of survival for myself once I pull the trigger. The only way to ensure this with a nucler weapon is to fire it far enough away that neither myself nor any of the zombies currently threatening my position are harmed.

I would also like to point out that you are suggesting that I carry a 7 lb rifle and nearly 30 lbs of ammunition. If I want to move quickly for a long period of time that doesn't leave a lot of carrying capacity for food and water which are just as important to my surival as the rifle and ammunition. I would almost certainly opt for a lighter ammunition load simply to facilitate rapid movement. The weapon is an instrument of last resort if my goal is escape and if 300 rounds aren't sufficient, 800 certainly aren't either. I'm just one man and I can only take so many aimed shots per minute.

Besides, 5.56x45 NATO is a common enough round that any gun store will have a quantity of them in stock. Where the hell am I going to find more nuclear weapons if I run out?

If I was stoned on aspirin and boos? I'd take the m16, run out Rambo style into the horde and then realize that I was now firing a lamp into a crowd of bewildered pedestrians before being arrested.
