I'm sure you'd all like the price of everything to drop. If diamonds cost a dollar, you'd be ecstatic. But that's not how it works.

They're not losing money. As long as they hold onto those systems, the value of those systems are added to their net worth. They're not making money and their market is stagnating, but by no means are they losing money by not selling. Lowering the price more would just make them lose a lot of money.
$399 is not that bad. It's a much as an Xbox Elite. You can't compare it to the Arcade or Standard because those are inferior products. And if you want to compare it to the standard, it costs the same if you include the $90 wireless adapter for the Xbox that the PS3 includes in the cost of every model.
tl;dr: PS3 doesn't need a price cut. Use your brains, and learn to do math.
