Poll: Queston for you male escapists

Would you rather meet, spend the day with or interview say your favourite male "celebrity" (so for instance say Stephen Fry, Jeremy Clarkson, Will Smith, Barack Obama, Morgan Freeman.. you get the picture)

Or, meet and spend the day with your favourite female celebrity (Say... Kiera Knightly, Natalie Portman Avril Lavigne or whomever)


I've been thinking about how males and females percieve their various respective celebrities. My initial thoughts are that females idolise their favourite celebrities because, quite simpily, they are cute. Males on the other hand are less interested in the opposite sex when it comes to celebrities, and look up to their favourite musicians, actors or writers.

Before anyone accuses me of making sweeping generalisations about the opposite sex.. i am well aware there will be individual differences. In my defense, in trying to understand human behaviour, we have to make generalisations. It's done in psychology all the time. Female input is of course most welcome, and i am sorry for any lack of clarity in my post, my thoughts are rather jumbled this evening.

The only celebrities I really like who are currently alive are Mr. T, Samuel L. Jackson, Will Smith, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.

I appear to fit into the generalisation. I'm a bloke and the majority (if not all...) of my favorite celebs are male.

I do tend to think that meeting with my favorite male celebrities would be more interesting.
Which isn't of course to say that meeting with someone like Oprah couldn't be as interesting, it just seems more obvious that meeting my favorite male celebrity has more appeal, so perhaps this confirms your theory.

This is because most of my favourite female celebrities are only my favourite because they are hot, and meeting them with a massive stiffee would be embarrasing.

Well i would agree with what most of the escapists here are saying. I too would rather spend the day with a male celeb than a female one. I would love to race some fast cars round the Top Gear test track with the Stig, have a laugh with the Clarkson and the other Top Gear presenters or meet the Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. You'll just have more to talk about and have a laugh.
