If a game is too hard for you do you quit playing it or do you cheat?

I used to cheat when i was younger, but now i can beat most games easily. With the exeption of Starcraft. Was never good with RTS

I will cheat under 1 condition. When it will save me alot of time. If a game is going to send me backtracking through level after level to get something basic repeatedly then I will cheat.

Cheat if its too hard and I just want to get through the story.

Quit if its too hard and I feel that there is nothing in the game to continue for.

Do you mean cheat as in enter cheat codes to get past a hard part? In that case I do neither, I simply keep trying until i can get past it.

I quit, play a different game for a while, then come back and beat it. Always works. I've found that when I cheat I lose all interest in a game and feel no need to actually challenge myself with it.

When I was a lot younger. But usually these days I persist.

If I don't persist I've been beaten and I cannot let that happen.

Used to just cheat when I was younger and I thought gamefaqs was Godly.
Since I got older I realised it's better to do something for yourself the first time through a game then you can start using guides or cheats to find out all the secrets.

But I guess if it still came down to it I'd probably rather cheat to get by something then knowing I wasted money on a game just to quit :p

It depends on the game.

If the game is boring then I'll cheat through it if I want to see the ending.
If the game is boring and cheating made it even worse(Batman AA is the most recent example of this for me) then I'll just simply stop playing.
If the game is hard then I stop playing when I actually hit a brick wall I can not pass(Dagra Dai in Ninja Gaiden 2 which is like, right before the final boss is the most recent example of that)

These recent examples are both from the last few months, but it's actually very rare for me to stop playing a game, hell, I even finished Daikatana.(technically I cheated by playing through a multiplayer campaign on my own but I refuse to play it without the respawning)

What do you mean by cheat exactly? Does using GameFaqs count? Because I don't see why I should continue to waste time looking for a specific location or exhausting every action I can if I have already done so and I just cannot proceed.

Recently Oblivon has made me do this too many times.

Same as you. Used to cheat when I was younger, but now I'm a stubborn bastard, IT SHALL NOT BEST ME!
I'm exactly the same. There was even a short time when I got really into JRPGs around age 12, cos of their storys, but I didn't understand them so I HAD to use Action Replay cheat disc things in order to simply play them. Then I grew some bollocks and now don't even like using cheats that you can unlock, like the ones in Uncharted 2 etc

I would only cheat if the game was good enough in non-gameplay areas to make me keep wanting more. Otherwise, I would just quit.
