A few months ago i read in a game Magazine(Gameinformer if i remember right) that Star Wars the Old Republic might be the game that finally de-throne's World of Warcraft. After talking to some friends that are quiting WoW to play it i thought i might put that to the test.

(If you plan on bagging out MMO's/people who play them, go some where else)

I do not play/enjoy WoW so none of the poll options apply to me, but SWTOR is extremely, extremely tempting. Likely I will be giving it a shot and hoping for the best.

well i said yes, but it depends on what information i get about it, but it looks freaking awesome right now.

they said they didn't want to be wow killers, they never planed to do that, they just wanted to make a fun game. i think that's a good attitude towards designing an mmo

I won't be quitting for TOR.
I'll wait a few months and if people say it's good, I might give it a try.

While I don't play WoW, I've played other MMO's (and tried WoW) and I intend to try TOR and see if I like it. I don't see how anyone could at this time say they'll quit and start playing something they know little about. A lot of people will try it, but will enough people enjoy it enough to permanently switch sides? Noone knows until the game has been released for a while.

I probably will, as I prefer the Star Wars universe over...well, most other things, including the already fantastic world of Azeroth.

If it'll be as good as I hope it will be (and as it looks to be), I'll stay. If not, I might return to WoW or stop with MMO's altogether.

I'm sure The Old Republic will be fine, but I've put too much time into World of Warcraft to stop now. And besides...
Simply Epic.

Hard to say. I'm more into the fantasy setting in WoW, but if The Old Republic turns out to be a better game, who knows? I doubt it will topple Wow, at least not in the beginning. They'll probably coexist somehow.

Time will eventually tell, though.

I don't know, it's not out yet.

Nor do most people know for sure that they won't, if it comes out and is truly amazing people will switch, if it's mediocre like most MMOs then only a few will, but no one knows yet because it's not out yet.

I will definitely be playing SW:ToR. And I will definitely be playing WoW. I have friends in WoW that I enjoy playing with, who won't be quitting, so I will stay there so I can play with them. But ToR looks very promising, so I will definitely have to play it. If it is as engaging as Mass Effect and KotOR, I'll end up playing through it, most likely solo, with each class.

No.
You can play both at the same time.
My brother use to do something like that. He use to play Aion, WarHammer, and WoW at the same time. Then he just went back to WoW.

If you don't plan on playing both, don't quit WoW right off the bat.
Play both for about a month or two, and then choose which one you want to play.

I quit WoW for life.
It was good to see the sun again.
I've got nothing against MMOs if they're done interestingly, but the click-and-watch combat system of WoW eventually dragged me away from whatever addictive visual drug they hide in the screen. After I quit, I don't know what I ever saw in it.
But yeah, I'm definately gonna give TOR a try. Everything's worth a try, and if anyone can make an interesting MMORPG, it's BioWare. Although I do hope they finish soon and can use the studio currently occupied with that to help the others finish ME3 quicker, or, failing that, begin making DA:O 2

I'll give it a chance. I've already quit WoW. I'm interested in the dialog idea.

Seeing it made me realize, it would be Bioware I want making an MMO. I'm just hoping there won't be three million Jedis on each server.

I recently quit WoW, so I can't quit WoW for it... But I plan to at least try out SWTOR, and looking forward to it.

I didn't know they let you quit WoW.

Anyway, I'm pissed that TOR acts as a "replacement" for KotOR 3.
