It may be because I always look for a reason to stay inside whenever possible, but I've always enjoyed the rain. It's something to look forward to after a series of hot days, or just the sudden surprise of being warm and dry just a few seconds prior, I just really love it.

Sometimes I think there's nothing better to wake up to gentle pitter, patter of rain on the rooftop, waking up, maybe there's a slight chill in the room, then going and making a warm drink.
Like a Hallmark moment.

It's just so, calming.

Maybe it's because God is in the rain.

Ah well, I ramble, what is the preferred weather of choice where you are at, Escapists?

(Not Search Bar Approved, spur of the moment thread, sue me.)

Russian proverb says: nature has no bad weather.

Still, i prefer rain or snow, and i mean heavy ones. Not "oh look, it snows/rains" kind, but "oh my, i can't see farther than my nose!" kind.

Rain is my preference because it gives me a perfect opportunity to hang with my girl, play Rock Band 2 with her, and watch a movie. Also, we love to watch the thunder/lighting storms if there are any. I hope it rains this weekend.

I like rain. Minor flash flooding and people forgetting how to drive is a small price for rain in southern California.

You'd think someone who's into evil like me would go "Raging Apocalypse!", but that's not true. The fact is, I'm light-sensitive, and Overcast weather is soothing to the senses. I live in Pittsburgh...and that's just how it is.

I was hoping for a thread about breaking benjamin but this will do.

I don't really mind what the whether is like although rain does feel refreshing at times.

My bet is that rain (emo, i hate humanity) and apocalypse (i'm hilarious and like fallout 3!) will be the top vote gatherers in this poll.

Seconded wholeheartedly. It's also nice to have a solitary walk through the rain in the night. The streets are deserted, it feel so private outside, I love it. Or going to bed in a heavy storm, rain clattering on the roof, thunder outside, it calms me down and helps me fall asleep. I also find storms to be pretty dang romantic, sitting inside, cuddled up on the couch while the rain bashes the windows or just watch the thunderflashes. *sigh* I'd like that...

However, I rather have a clear sky when I'm going to work, it's not very nice to show up with a wet pair of pants. And a nice sunny spring/summer day rocks too, with just some fluffy clouds floating by, about 25C and just read a book outside while listening to the birds and the wind rattling through the trees.

Thunder storms: Mother nature got bored and decided to turn the whole world into rave. Bright flashing lights, rumbling booms in the distance, the feeling of energy in the air; it really doesn't get better.

It has to be a strong thunderstorm though. I want to be able to step outside and be soaked to the bone in less than a minute.

Oh how true. I love how people complain when it's barely drizzling.

I got some weird looks yesterday walking around without an umbrella or hood in a legitimate rainstorm. I thought it was refreshing...

Incidentally, it happens to be about to pour down here, down under.

Snow, though that option is somewhat affected by the fact that where I'm at, there is not enough of it. Just a couple of centimeters, when I there ought to be (at least in my mind) a meter or more. And give me good frost, 20 to 25 C below freezing, none of this -5 degrees C bs it's now...

Outside of winter, I don't like rain too much: too much of that. No, the best weather outside of winter is sunny/slightly overcast, 10-20 degrees C warm. After that it gets too hot.

I was genuinely disappointed today when it looked like it was going to clear up (and happy when the clouds came back).

I mean, it's been raining off and on for what, over a week now? Just starting to see things grow again...

Snow. I live in the north island of New Zealand, so we hardly get snow at all. The only time it's snowed in the past century was a few months ago, and that waws more hail than snow. I just find snow so EPIC.

And don't think there might be snow coming up. It's summer down here.

Storms, to be specific, summer storms. I just love the sudden change from hot to cold and the way that the massive amount of humidity, which has spent the entire day pissing off the entire north of the continent, ends up doing the exact opposite and makes it beautifully cool.

Also, I like the smell of a storm, it makes everything smell so clean and crisp, and it sometimes lasts for hours on end.
