Poll: Reloading OCD, is it a hazard?

This is something that has bothered me during my long fps addiction.

I think it started with the original counterstrike. We (the ocd reloaders) reload our guns like a reflex right after a kill. However in a game like CS where a few wellplaced shots drops a player it could be a really bad habit. I often reload a 75-50% full mag, loosing momentum in a rush. I have actually started to "force" myself to wait with reloading and focus on a rush and it has given me better "game" as a result. I cant remember a single time where I got shot cous I was out of ammo, and if I did I was probably severely outnumbered anyway.

Interested to hear your thoughts on this

I do this constantly. Everytime I've killed a group of guys I will always be reloading soon after.
I don't find it a hazard per se, but my friends have got wise to this and always wait for me to reload before attacking me.

So to answer your question properly, reloading is more hazardous to me then running out.

I'm usually good at finding a good place to reload if i plan to do so. However, I'm not as good at keeping a track of my current ammunition. The *clickclickclick* of my empty gun is the most horrible noise i can hear in any game, because it's usually accompanied by the sound of whatever character I have ragdollising in the face of a shower of bullets.

Ive been killed too many times while reloading. This made me reload after every kill or group of kills. In the case of a huge firefight, I just wait till Im all out of bullets and run for cover

It's called 'Dead Mans Click' for a reason. I hate that when it happens, normally when playing friends.

Well, I was raised on the Battlefield games on the PC, where instead of individual bullets being displayed, you had clips.

You would start with 3 or so clips, and reloading would cost a clip. It doesn't matter if you have 22 bullets or 2 bullets left in a clip, reloading takes out 1 clip, which causes you to think about reloading.

I tend to reload if I have less than 25% of bullets left in a clip, thanks to Battlefield (mainly Battlefield 2)

I developed this when playing CoD 2: Big Red One (not the 360 version). If I kill an enemy and move forward to engage others I reload if I'm not in combat straight away (usually just about to enter it).

I find it annoying, but I'm hardly likely to stop doing it now.

i usually make sure that the area is secure before i reload, but generally i will always reload after a firefight... it rarely gets me killed though...

good idea to check area first then get into cover... just in case :)

I do mostly reload after every kill but I don't live long enough for it to effect me, so it is mostly when i'm reloading.

I'm like that. It's especially bad in games where you don't have a pool of ammo and instead have limited clips. I always forget...

Um... I'm dumb and don't understand the poll, so I won't answer it, but...

I reload after every major engagement. If I kill someone and I KNOW that someone else is just around a corner I won't reload then, but for the most part I reload as often as possible.

Thats why you use grenades, if available

I do, in Halo, but its harder in CSS when you generally have only one... and you are a trigger happy spawn nader like myself.
