Poll: Resident Evil 4: your favorite pistol?

Ok, so I actually need some advice. I just entered the castle, and right now my pistol is a fully upgraded Red 9 with the stock. I'm just wondering, half out of curiosity and half out of need, what is your favorite pistol in Resident Evil 4? Also, should I get a new pistol, or keep my Red 9? Or should I keep the Red 9 and get a new pistol? If it helps, I am playing the Wii edition, and I prefer firepower over firing speed, due to ammo conservation (less shots fired = more ammo).

I think it's too late to go back and get it unless you've got multiple saves, but Punisher is way to go. Shooting multiple enemies with a single bullet is god tier ammo conservation and it can penetrate the obnoxious shields that you'll be encountering more and more.

i got through the game with the red 9 just fine, lose the stock it takes up more space than its worth.

I used the blacktail. I was quite good with headshots in RE4

never really cared a lot for the pistol... stopped using it when i got other weapons, except when i rally had to save ammo. It's been so long since i played it that i don't remember which pistol is best though

Good point, but it's kinda moot when you get the Exclusive upgrade on the Blacktail and begin doing more damage than your first shotgun (!).
Plus, who cares about that when your striker has 100 shotgun shells inside? I never had to reload the entire ending boss fight!

Good point, but it's kinda moot when you get the Exclusive upgrade on the Blacktail and begin doing more damage than your first shotgun (!).
Plus, who cares about that when your striker has 100 shotgun shells inside? I never had to reload the entire ending boss fight!

I'm kind of assuming the OP is on his first play through since cares about conserving hand gun ammo and by "fully upgraded" he means he's bought everything that's been offered so far.

the standard handgun, fully upgraded gives you x5 chance of BOOM HEADSHOTS.

Until that time the red 9 is the best pistol, through first playthrough it'll clear a room out faster than any other pistol.

The Red 9 has the most firepower of any handgun, I always used it.

As for the argument for using the Punisher to punch through shields... umm... one shotgun blast usually does it, then you can just switch back to your Red 9 and plug away

That said, this is also coming from someone who uses the bolt action rifle. I just love shooting that thing

Also as previously mentioned the stock for the Red 9 doesnt seem to do much, I never actually used it

If you beat the gamecube version several times through with each subsequent playthrough selling all your weapons and starting "fresh", then you get 6.5 or 7 for the Red 9.

Red9 for Life. The Punisher isn't as strong, the multiple enemy bullet pass through doesn't happen enough to make it worthwhile.
