So, the question remains, do yall prefer rockband, or guitar hero.
Personally, i prefer the guitar hero games meself, due to the large number of songs and sturdier instruments, (the nostalgia factor also helps) though im open to playing rockband (the guitar just feel akward to me.

please none of that 'guitar hero and rockband are for pussys who cant play guitar' nonsense, if your gonna troll,do it somewhere else, preferably not on the escapist.

Guitar Hero 2 was a brilliant game then they released the tripe that was Guitar hero 3. Rock band has a greater catalogue of songs available to download. Don't get me wrong i think both games are good but I far prefer Rock band. But both were stupidly priced in the UK anyway so both fail there.

I was really excited for GHIII and bought it soon after release, but stopped playing it after a few weeks. I guess you could consider me a Harmonix fanboy, but I really prefer their GH/RB games to the GH games that Neversoft has done.

I am partial to Guitar Hero, but I still got both Rock Bands, which are fun, but not quite as challenging or impressive to show off with. :D

I'd like to make a comment about how GH3 dragged the overall score of the GH series at the time to -2 out of a possible 10 but GH2 was such a masterpiece that the series still got a 10. So yeah, Harmonix games...

I was very much looking forward to Rock Band but when I got it the drum pedal stopped responding after just two hours of play. Even a replacement failed to work at all, so I just sent the whole lot back. Now I get on with my old GH3 quite happily.

I prefer Rockband. I'm tired of GH people being a bunch of money sucking whores. Also, I don't own Guitar Hero World Tour, but I have tried it.

If you would have asked me before World Tour, I would have said Guitar Hero all the way. Guitar Hero, while not as party friendly as Rock Band, always (to me) had better songs, but since they added the drums and mic and became far more popular they seem to have given up on appealing to the rock and metal fans and went more mainstream.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those "mainstream sucks because it's popular" kind of people. I'm just a huge fan of rock and metal. Especially a lot of the old school stuff that we had in GH 2 and 3 (never got to play rockin' the 80s' ;_;). If Red Octane made it possible to have the music from the previous installations of GH on World Tour (without having to sell internal organs to pay for them via DLC) it would easily be the best damn plastic guitar game of all time.

Not only does Rock Band 2 have a massive selection of DLC that could make any metal fan squeal like a girl, but it also allows you to play the songs from the first game without having to pay out the ass.

tl;dr - I used to like GH, now I like RB, though I prefer CoD:4 to both.

RB, 'cause it's easier. And when I sit down to play those games, I just do it for the music, not to actually challenge myself so much. That I have REAL games for ;P

Rock Band I think. I liked the music they had (don't get me wrong, GH has some truly awesome songs) but I just preferred the RB experience and my friends and I always felt like true rock stars. :)
