Poll: Runescape

So what do you think about runescape?
I just know that i got tired of it in one day, because of grinding, bad animations, grinding and general uglyness.

I only played it once a few years ago at school, from my opinion it was incredibly boring and just painful to play. Kind of like playing any Zelda games on the CD-i *zing*...

Mainly due to there being no more quests I could do without having to do weeks of grinding first...

I got bored after a year or two but I still haven't found an mmo with quests as diverse as the ones in runescape.

I played it for about a month (my usual trial period for a game) years ago, then stopped and haven't cared since. I can understand why some people get hooked on it, I just couldn't.

Lost interest after I did all the free quests and filled my bank space. Tried membership, but I got hacked: I was somewhere I had never seen before and everything of value was taken from my bank. So I cancelled my membership, sold the few items that were left and dropped the proceeds, plus all my seasonal gear, in the middle of the Grand Exchange.

Since then I've been playing Kingdom of Loathing instead. A much better game in my opinion.

its meh i got bored of the massive amounts of grinding i had to do to move on to any more fun stuff

the quests are the best i have ever seen ever for an MMO and they even out do some single player games

I tried it a couple of times. It was very much a 'meh' experience for me. Probably only played it for a couple of hours.

I thought it was really good, stopped playing because for some strange reason my account info doesn't work anymore, and now I'm playing WoW so I don't really see the point in playing Rune anymore.

I actually really enjoy Runescape.
I had started playing in high school and my original character is still active for some reason (I'm 25 now, started playing when I was 16). Way back then there was a great community both on the forums and in-game, and I actually ended up involved in a group that ran weekly trivia and other games and gave away all sorts of prizes. I tried getting back into it about a year ago, even tried members, but lately I lack both the free time and the money.

After 9 years I never did get around to finishing the Prince Ali quest...

Id say its good.

Most of the games boring, and without membership your not likely to have any fun at all. As most of the fun lies in minigames and high level PVP.

I still pop in every now and then for holiday events, and some things like the PVP and castle wars are genuinely fun. But other than that, the game seems incredibly grindy...

It annoys me how MMORPG's have a huge grindy section before its actually fun.

I used to play it quite a lot, actually... was even a member, got to level 89 and everything (max was 126 at the time, so it wasn't bad)

In hindsight though, I don't why I played it so much... its a bit crap, really.

I played it for to long, to long indeed, im ashamed to say that i leveled a skill (fishing) to the maximum of 99, damn those stylish capes! I was also a member for about a year, some good times were had in the minigames, Castle Wars being the best.. beyond that the game is a serious grind.

I played it bout 6 yrs ago, stopped, picked it up again 2 years ago and then stopped again.

Like most others have said, I played it for a while. I didn't get bored, I just found much better games that rendered Runescape a boring game anyway.
