just like the one guy who got banned i made my own because i didn't wanna search it up.
ok in my opinion, gta was the original best sand box game but with absolutely no fucking customization and saints row 2 is a carbon copy that i find more fun because gta is now a great attempt at finding new ways to piss me off, while driving i slide in a 1080 circle where i started or not turning enough to crash into a cop and then the cop having amazing accuracy.in saints row 2 case its extremely fun you can do shit so unreal that it kept me playing and i quit gta 4 in ten minutes.the fact that you can unlock the ability to survive falling off the worlds biggest building or being able to run by fire and not die.the actvities were all saints row 2's idea and so was the fucking phone and i'd rather pause to get to the phone then stand there get shot to hell and then die because you keep pressing the button to bring up the phone!

gta 4 wins in multiplayer i,ll admit that.

The grammar nazis will have a field day with this... but I get what you're trying to say, I think...

Anyways, I think that SR has in fact surpassed GTA at least in terms of the "fun-factor". They either ripped odd or built upon (depending on your perspective) what GTA started, but I think that GTA started to take itself too seriously while SR focused on what's fun.... that's my two cents anyhow...

Not to be an asshole, just pointing it out; you're acting like an itemized list of things which will get you banned or scorned.

1)Vs thread
2)bad grammar, without full stops
3)wall of text
4)repeat of a repeat of a repeat of a repeat thread.

SR2 > GTA4

GTA4 takes itself far too seriously, while SR2 is more like the fun of GTA San Andreas.

And you can flash in SR2, man, I never get sick of that, it's hilarious.

Throwing people in SR2 is one of the funnest things I have ever done in a video game.

Mission co-op in SR2 is simply brilliant fun.

why is everyone hating on gta 4? I mean sure you cant do a bunch of stupid mindlessly fun shit, but i reckon it was still enjoyable, but maybe its because I enjoy a good story and good gun fights. Even though Niko was an angsty protagonist he was still more interesting then some prick white boy gangster wannabe which is probably what most people who play saints row 2 will make their character as. I'm not saying saints row 2 is bad either, I havent played it but I played and enjoyed saints row 1 so chances are saints row 2 is a lot of fun as well, I'm just saying people who hate gta 4 on it trying to be more mature kind of prove why videogames are often seen as the pariah of the entertainment industry. (the friend system in gta 4 was the only major flaw in the game I believe)

I never 'hated on' GTA4. I just said SR2 was more fun. That's just my opinion.

GTA4 is great, I played it every day until I completed the main story line. SR2 however, I played every day until I completed the main story line, then I played it every day for another couple of weeks just because it was so much fun. Once you've completed GTA4's story, there's not really that much left to do.

And the cousin, man I got sick of him calling me to go out with him.

As a rule, I usually avoid vs threads, but I'll explain my viewpoint this once. I was never into GTA for the random wanton destruction. I guess I'm not sociopathic enough, I was always there for the missions. GTAiv made those missions less fun, most of them all the same. I couldn't even get to the last one. 2 weeks after getting the game, I put it away and haven't played it since.

Whoa, there mate.
There's few that is actually hating GTA4. It just happens to be so that they feel SR are alot more fun. And .. I concur. It is. And about trying to make a mature game. No can do. Gamers are'nt mature enough. Like yathzee (missplelled, I guess) said. If you give them oppertunety to do what they want to. They'll make the worst of it. I mean, just look at sporenography. It's impossible .. thus far at least.

At the first of your post, I thought I had a fairly good idea what you were trying to say. At the end, I was'nt even sure what my own name was ...

No one is really "hating on" GTA IV, but IMO it's the better game. For a Sandbox Game, GTA IV is way too realistic. Game developers are going for the most realistic, but, IMO, GTA IV went a bit too far. The driving mechanic was very frustrating, for example. And overall I just did not like it. It seemed like a copy/paste of Vice City with "Russian" stamped on with Mafia.

Forgot to mention SR 2 lol. I think SR 2 is the better game I meant in that first sentence. Lol Fail on me XD

Lol. Totally agree. He's one of the reasons I stopped playing GTA IV, and why I'm so glad I only rented it.

Saints Row II... all the fun of GTA IV (and more) with none of the dumb shit. It gets my vote.

Both hold a special place in my gaming heart. I've enjoyed both for different reasons, and there is no way that I could choose between the two!

Gotta go with Saints Row 2, if for nothing else than the customization. Saints Row's lack of maturity in regards to literal crap did annoy me, but not as much as the figurative crap that is Roman. That and I find it hard to relate to Niko.

I say that Saints Row is the better game. Why? Because it's more GTA than GTA 4.

GTA was a (in my eyes) poorly done simulation of the rise to power. You couldn't fuck about as much, and everything seemed more constrained.

In Saints Row 2, it seems more fun again. There's less of a point, and more dicking about and having FUN. Also, no damn fat cousin who calls you every 5 moments to talk tits.

"Beeg american TEE-TEE's!"

well GTA4 was a good game for a little bit, but too much of Niko's bitching about how much Russia sucked for him got really annoying... especially when his problems in his childhood just HAD to be worse then everyone else you hung out with in that game. But the multiplayer was solid and the story was good. the turn onto serious avenue was an interesting change of pace for rockstar.

now Saints 2 was better if you dont always have access to live like me. having stilwater's roads as my offline playground was a lot better then liberty city. having airplanes and helicopters whenever i felt like skydiving onto an old lady then getting up, brush off my shoulders, and walk off as if nothing happened is satisfying for me and my friends. the multiplayer coulda been better thought. the co-op could always have more gangbangers running around with over the top weapons and the other gametypes r a little bit shaky at times. all in all theyre both good games but Saints 2 has a bigger spot in my heart then GTA will ever have
