i was having a conversation with my friend the other day about our favourite school of magic in Oblivion, and i just thought i'd ask all you ppl too!

so which is it?

So... this isn't an actual poll, it's more of a survey. I was hoping to vote and what-not. Non-the-less, I'd have to say I like Conjouration too, cause who doesn't want to conjour zombies?

Hmmm, resoration, 'cos you could grab a dagger, and then you could take on anything, simply keeping yourself in perfect health.

Once you reach 100 in Destruction, you can cast awesome spells that just destroy everything in your way.

I like Restoration for Absorb health. Enchant that on a dagger and never have to worry about health again. Kinda.

I'm going to go with the DnD schools of magic here and say Evocation. Fireball+Prismatic Sphere+Meteor Swarm. Thank you.

Destruction. Although I dislike magic altogether in that game.

Dang hard call.

For the greedy in my character I love alchemy. Cheap as hell to just buy out every ingredient in the whole Market area, spam create potions, and resell for huge profit, not to mention its the fastest leveling skill in the game. I tend to hit 100 with it before much of anything else even reaches 60-70 range. Great for so many potions and poisons, making money, upping levels, or raising your Mercantile skill in the process.

But for game play aspect I like Illusion. Night-eye, Invisibility, Charm, etc. its just all around fun and useful for me weather I'm playing physical, stealth, or magic focused or any mix.

Yeah, I was also hoping for the DnD schools of magic.

I was always a fan of Illusions. Sure, Willpower > my spells, but Greater Invisibility? Yay.

If not, then Enchantment. Seems like a weak school, but it has Power Word - Kill. And Antipathy, which basically makes you immune to melee monsters if you know their alignment or race. Also the Epic Spell, Damnation, is pretty cool and is from Enchantment - it sends target, if successfully attacked in melee range, TO HELL!! Lawful Evil or Chaotic Evil Hell. And it can't leave for at least 20 hours, and even then it must find a way on his own. Oh, and he'll be attacked by 1-4 pit demons/balors every hour until he escapes. Fun times.

Conjuration. The only skill you could master just by casting summon zombie over and over at the same spot.

Illusion. There's almost no crime related problem that can't be solved with a journeyman or higher illusion skill and a good invisibility spell.
