Back then I guess I was both even though I didn't care much over the war that both of them were having.

Edit:its all in good fun and memories both console are great.

i was always nintendo, i had the snes and the n64. some of my friends played sega, but i always loved mario and zelda too much not to go with nintendo. oh and goldeneye of course. good times

I had a Sega growing up, so Sega for me.

Both, actually. At one friend's house we regularly played Donkey Kong County or Super Mario Kart on the SNES and at another friend's house we played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Mortal Kombat on the Mega Drive. During the PlayStation era I and most my friends were Nintendo kids though, most of us owning a N64 and Game Boy Color.

Sony...I had a Genesis, though, but the console that really hooked me into gaming was my PS1.

I was too young to understand console wars. But I would have sided with the SNES, had I known about RPGs back way back then.

Back to Sony...

I never cared for platformers, so Mario bores the shit out of me. Zelda is a fine series, but I prefer the overhead ones, like the original, LttP, the Oracle games, Minish Cap, etc.

What RPGs did the N64 have? OH RIGHT. Paper Mario. And that's pretty much it. [http://www.gamefaqs.com/n64/list-48]

I'll just sit here with my massive collection of PS1 RPGs. Chrono Cross, Legend of Mana, FF7-9, Star Ocean 2, Grandia, Legend of Dragoon, SaGa Frontier 1 + 2, and many more.

I am not a fanboy, so neither.

I'm not sure if I would call this a VS thread, as it's talking about what we DID prefer, not what we currently DO prefer. Though I would change the title and add in "both" and "neither" options just to be on the safe side. Less potential to descend into a flamewar. But yes, true VS threads are bad.
