As most men who watch TV know; a tv-show or advertisement showing women giving away erotic poses will most likely attract more people(mostly just men) to that channel.
Frankly though, I'm kinda fed up with it; Constantly seeing women shaking their a$$ in front of the camera to get more ratings begins to turn on me. I'm willing to shout at the producers to get original again and dump the whole 'oh-look-titties'-idea that's dominating the tv for over a decade!

So now I'm asking you: Does it really sell anymore for you?

Sex sells. It just doesn't sell to me. "Her breasts are large" is not a good argument for why I should buy a product.

I don't really understand the topic. Sex sells pornography. Natalie Portman sells Natalie Portman movies (I love her...). But I don't think that generic boobs can be used to sell anything and everything.

Why should I buy it just because some woman is waving her tits at me.

Anyone who doesn't believe sex sells need only watch a Britney Spears video or look at the sales figures for The Sun.

As a general rule: Yes. If it didn't it wouldn't be used.

But personally, no. In fact blatant in-your-face sexism just turns me away immediately. More carefully hidden and/or artistic expression is slightly another thing, but I myself notice no change or negative change in my consumer behaviour based on the 'sexyness' of adverts. So, negative effect or no effect to me, at least from what I can gather of my own behaviour.

Doesn't sell to me.

Except that one guitar advert I saw.

It showed a pair of legs with panties resting at the bottom.

It still sells, of course. Look at Megan Fox (figuratively in this case). Doesn't really mean much to me, but to a bunch of people that saw "Transformers 2" it probably does (no offense intended).

I hate it when they do that. In a local online sport site, they put totaly unrelated news. Like this "Beautiful women from around the world unite to stop global warming" and there is usualy about 10 pictures to each topic. They all show women in erotic poses, and some 12 year old wanna-be grown up always writes comments about how he's "gonna bone that biatch".

Sex always turned me against a product, because it just tells me that the product sucks.
If they can't think of anything to say about it other than "hot slutty chicks will jump your bones if you buy our product," it's clearly not worth buying.
Seriously. It's like the easiest way to tell they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

"Uh, uh, the beer tastes...
Wait, not really, but it'll get you drunk super...
Hold on, that's a lie too. Uh... Boobies?
Boobies!"

... Yeah.

I dunno, I'm a girl, so I can just look at my own boobies if I wanna see some. I'd be more inclined to give a product a second glance if there was a sweaty, chiseled fireman using it, but those commercials are rarely aimed at me anyway. I lament the lack of eye-candy for women on TV, but that's all it is to me, eye-candy. Can't understand the concept of spending your money on a TV person you'll never have.

Truth.

But on topic, sex sells for the majority, but it doesn't sell to me.
I want an advert that's witty and catchy, not something that digs desperately for something to advertise their product.
I especially hate the Axe commercials.
