wow the poll is close atm
ps3 - 138
306 - 143

heres the pros of each

Xbox 360-better online, cheaper, more like PC games
PS3 - better graphics, some kick-ass exclusive games

so if you really want to enjoy your HD get a PS3 but if you have alot of friends or just like the games on the Xbox then do that.

I have both but if you want to play some of the PS2 games you gotta make sure that you get the right model for me I didn't pay close attention to the model.

pretty much decide if you want to play Halo and GoW, or LBP and KZ2... quite honestly there is really no difference between the 2 systems right now except for a few exclusives. Personally i have had no trouble with PSN, never tried Xbox live so I cant comment on it, but i hear its quite good, and dont trust people telling you PSN is crap, it works fine. Only other thing i can think of is backwards comparability, dunno if 360 plays xbrick games, but PS3 does ps1 games, and there have been rumours about a possible firmware update that would allow ps2 compatibility, but im not too sure about that. Also what consoles do your frieds have? if you plan to play with them get that console.

Definately PS3, it has more exclusives that are decent games (only one I know of on X-Box that is good is Fable II, Mass Effect is also on the PC).

PS3. If you don't want to be charged for online, and if you don't like worrying about your system breaking, then that's the Console to go for. That and the exclusives are more varied.

Xbox 360 has a better library, a great deal more western style games (shooters), also, I have one of the original run models (the ones without the HDMI port, and it still runs well enough, albeit noisily, but then they were noisier then and time has only made it more so.

Ultimately, it really boils down to two key points; games, blu-ray. If you plan on using the PS3 for both, then that seems like a logical choice, but if it's all about games the Xbox 360 is still the better of the two... for now. Seriously, people clamor over the silliest things on both consoles, you just see it more often on the PS3 because the library is slimmer so they tend to be more starved for good titles. Though again, I stress that this seems to be changing a bit.

I, for one, would eventually like to have both. God of War 3 just looks way too good to miss.

I personally appreciate the current range of games available to the 360, since they fit my gaming style quite well (and Ace Combat 6 is a pure joy)

I can only speak from experience, but the Playstation 3 always lags, always disconnects, the interface is balls, and its just all around unpleasant.

On the same internet connection I play PC and Xbox 360 games with no problems whatsoever.

Plenty of people swear by PS3 Internet, how it is just as good as everything else, but all I have to go by is my experience and that was NOT my experience.
well PSN reliability depends a lot on the game your playing to be honest, SF4, KZ2 and Blazblue for example all have a really good netcode and i rarely experience any lag while playing those, on the other hand LBP and Tekken 6 for example have horrible netcode and are generally laggy as hell. The interface i have no issues with, but then again i dont really have anything to compare it to. In terms of lag and connection issues, that has generally a lot more to do with the games than PSN... PSN is a very bare bones service, but it is free as well.

I'd say avoid it altogether and stick PC.

If you had to get one though I'd get a PS3. Good games and great capabilities.

Well, I would prolly do the xbox for you but here are the pros and cons of both:
(PS I know you've played both this is just my opinion)

~Xbox 360~
Pros: larger game lineup,
cheaper games and system,
larger online community,
(in my opinion) better controller,
good marketplace,
XBLA

Cons: online community filled with a 3:1 dickhead to nice person ratio,
system can break easy (or so ive heard. I dropped my xbox 360 pro down 2 flights of stairs and into a puddle and it still functions)
Good graphics but not too stellar,
Red ring of death

~PS3~
Pros: Jaw droppingly fantabulous graphics,
sturdier system,
some really good ps3 exclusive games
blu-ray (but you dont need that)
Free online

Cons: everything is more expensive,
less games,
no xbla

Really you can't leave this to people on a forum...It's mainly up to you. But if I were you, judging by the way you seem to be, I'd get a 360.

I have had a PS3 since they came out. But then i bought an xbox 360 a month ago. No problems, no RROD, no over heating issues, online is only $8 a month now, the interface is amazing(i hated the PS3 interface), and in my opinion games like gears of war 2 and halo ODST rule over the PS3. If you are a gamer then get the XBOX 360, the PS3 was built as a home entertainment system, only reason there are good exclusives is cause they se a good gpu. Not great for gaming though. Deffinitly get the xbox =D hope i helped
