Here's my situation (again):
I'm not playing my PS3 anymore. I took one look at my library, and I realized that my collection for my 360 was almost completely made up of exclusives, while my PS3 was used for multiplatform ports. I don't watch movies much at all, so the whole no Blu-Ray thing doesn't bother me. (The only thing I'd ever use my PS3 for at this point would be to get Agent, by R*. Maybe. Maybe)

So I've been considering selling my old 360 (practically first gen, about 12 GB on the hard drive) and my PS3 while picking up a 360 Slim. (I'm getting the Slim for around $225-$250.) My PS3 has 3 controllers, a Bluetooth headset, and about 4 games. (No exclusives.)

Would it be worth it to sell my PS3 and get a 360 Slim? Should I stick with what I have? Or should I sell my old 360 by itself and get a Slim to save myself the grief if it manages to RROD again? (It only did this once, and only after I stuffed it in a terrible place and kept it on all day. Honestly, I think it's pretty reliable, but is it worth keeping around and going out of my way to keep getting memory storage?)

You would be wise to wait a while to see how it performs for all the early adopting suckers.

Sell old xbox. Get new one. I got $250 trade in for my old Elite towards the new slim. Now all my consoles, TV and amp are nice and glossy black! It's worth keeping the PS3 for exclusives.

Keep your old Xbox, sell the PS3. If you're not using it, you're not using it and there's no point in keeping it around, especially at a point where someone will likely pay $200-$250 for it with the accessories.

I wouldn't get the new Xbox for at least a year, I'd wait 18 months if possible to see what happens after the warranty runs out.

If I were you, I'd wait to see how the Slim does. You don't wanna waste both your consoles on an even suckier one. But if the Slim turns out to be great maybe you should think about selling the old Xbox. I mean there's no point having a 360 as well as a slim. But with the Ps3 there's always exclusives.

I would only sell your 360 for the new model. It does have a lot of nice new features to it, and built-in Wifi is a plus. That said, the PS3 does have stuff going for it, so if it ever decides to pull itself out of its ass (in your eyes), you would regret if you ever sold it. I know I did when I saw all the actual games Nintendo showed at E3 this year. (Regarding the Wii.)

Also, if you ever plan on getting Kinect, having the new 360 would help. One less thing to plug in to your power strip.

Keep in mind, the new system won't RROD, but it has a different way of displaying a hardware failure. For now, wait and see how high the failure rate is for the early adopters before making the decision.

1. Keep PS3 and XBOX
2. Wait for people to start finding problems with 360 Slim
3. Save money anyways
4. ?????
5. Profit!

But seriously though, wait a year and everyone will hate the Slim, I'd bet on this.

If you really want though, just sell your old XBOX, keep your PS3, save money and buy the new XBOX.

Are you sure there isn't any PS3 exclusives you're interested in? There's a crapload and most score a minimum of 'pretty awesome' :p

I'd only get an Xbox Slim if your current Xbox is holding you back. If the 12GB capacity is bothering you (assuming you can't upgrade it) or the machine isn't working so well overall then i'd be more inclined to get a new one. If it's just for the sake of it though then there's no point.

Upgarding the hard drive is possible, but if his current model doesn't have an HDMI port, then that may be an issue.

It also depends on what you want out of your system. Upgrading a current Xbox to match the features of the new model may wind up actually being more expensive than it's worth. A 250 GB HDD and the wireless adapter alone cost about $230, I believe. Once again, not having to free up a plug in the wall is also a nice convenience if you plan on getting Kinect.

Sell the old Xbox, wait until all the bugs are fixed and known on the Slim and buy it.
